I am looking at getting a Ruger 10/22 for some informal target shooting and I was wondering how many of you have them and what setup you have.

4k is not a bad price at all. The msrp on a new one is 4500, not including anything but the magazine, and not to mention getting it shipped here from germany. What kind of scope does it have on it? Gonna need some good glass for that beast.
Like I showed you above, the fate of the tac2 is unknon, but that’s a really good deal on an amazing gun. Maybe shop around for a lrs2 on gunbroker and the like, but if you don’t find anything better that wouldn’t be a bad deal.

Its the R93T2 LRS (the numbers on the side of the box) chambered in .308 with a 5 round mag…

What caliber is the one in the store close to you?
Also, is it the tac 2? I would really reccomend a lrs2 over a tac 2, because that’s what’s been reccomended to me. Here is an email I got from the guy I buy all of my blaser equipment through.

Sometimes gunbroker has lrs2’s for sale for a good price, that’s where I got mine. It is a lot of money to drop on a gun, but it is well worth it in my eyes.
Also, before you get one without a scope or anything like that, be sure to look at the prices of accesories for them, they are very expensive. For example, a scope mount is 450 bucks new at the moment, and a magazine is about 200 bucks. So be sure you have money for anything that’s not included on the gun.
But when you get to the range and effortlesley shoot paintballs at 100 yards all day long, you’ll never regret it.

I admit that I haven’t been shopping lately for .22s, but every time I see “Ruger”, I see $400.
I guess I’m missing something….but I’m not on the market, so I’ll take your advice.

The shop I go to has it in stock and i’m partial to the larger cartridges… If it came in 7.62×54 I would be holding it right now! 😆
Well, it certainly isn’t the deal you got, so it makes it harder to justify and more so if the latest politicians have their way and make centerfire ammo harder to buy (or way more expensive)…

I can’t decide between a Blaser R93T2 long range sporter in .308 and the 10/22, the price tag of the Blaser would get me almost 10 10/22’s so that is a serious factor… The Blaser would be an investment and the Ruger would be a target rifle…
Syn, have you seen my signiture? Blaser long range sporter 2. Rediculous gun! Don’t get the tac 2 unless you are wanting to get 338 lapua mag. The lrs2 has a more of a future than the tac 2 does. Only thing you can’t do with the lrs2 is 338 lapua, but other than that they are very similar, but the minor differences are what make the lrs2 more versatile and a better investment.
Plus, you can spend a few more dollars and get a r93 .22lr conversion kit for your blaser. Granted, it’s more expensive than the 10/22 (about 1500 bucks) but it’s also incredible.

Bought a crappy used 10/22, the only thing I’m keeping is the receiver.

Just go ahead and buy it, the worst thing that could happen is you having way too much fun with it and forget about air guns for a while. 😛

What is more fun..shooting a couple hundred .22’s at cans and bottles
or shooting 10 concrete blocks at 450 yards?
With the price of ammo..(unless you roll your own) you can easily buy a 10-22 after a few trips to the range with the .308

Mine is just plain ole 10/22 with black stock and a red dot scope..but it never fails…
I was going to piss about the cost of the 10/22, considering it’s only a .22 caliber.
Then I remembered that I own a Talon. 😆 😯

I forget what it cost me to build a 10/22. I bought a stainless one, put a grey laminate Fajen on it, some Volquartzen trigger parts and a crappy Butler Creek bull barrel. Only took about 1 hour and it prints very nice groups at 50 yards.
I now have a Kobra red-dot on it. Quickest point-and-shoot gun I have and deadly as hell. However louder than I prefer… naturally.
