SA80 STORM
Yo guys, A mate of mine who just completed his second tour in afghan brought me back a little present and now I’m just looking to fit it to my storm. I made a few minor adjustments but it fits pretty good as is.
so before I go any further I thought Id let you guys have a peek an see what you think? Also have any of you ever considered making the back of the scope mount symmetrical to the front?

I’ve been thinking for a while that one of the aftermarket AR-15 handguards might be big enough to fit around and mount somehow to the frame, but those things aren’t cheap ($80+), and I don’t wanna bet that kinda money on an experiment when failure right out of the gate is a real possibility. The added weight might be problematic as well, but it’d look pretty cool.
Anybody got one? What’s the inside diameter of it?
I have been thinking the same thing for a wile now except I’ve been thinking about getting an airsoft one. cant really buy AR-15 accessories round hear 😆

As for the grip, It’s certanly differant 😆 Abit too bold for my liking but sprayed black (or rifle sprayed the same cammo as grip) then It could be a whole different look
I mean the carry handle/scope mounting area, like the 4th pic I posted.

What do you mean symetrical? I try to make sure they are both In the middle of the tube and the scope clamp bolts are all pritty much equally clamped down.

What matters on the mounts is that the further out to the ends of the scope you can mount the rings and get proper eye relief, the stronger it will be. You also have to remember that on some scopes, the zoom tube can be damaged or put into a bind if you go too close to the power changing ring. don’t over tighten. Especially with lesser quality rings. They can pinch and damage the outer tube enough to destroy the inner zoom tube.
I have seen a lot of scopes that the owners complained that the zoom ring was way too stiff. It is usually because the rings are directly over the zoom tube, and over tightened.
