Scope height when scope is canted

If you have adjustable mounts or a 20moa mount, how do you measure scope height? The front of the scope is closer to the barrel than the back end

Maybe if you use all of the functions in chairgun you can simply adjust in strelok to match chairgun. Maybe if you adjust the scope height in strelok eventually the numbers will match

The current version of Chairgun now has “scope base” as a parameter. Scope base is the distance from the scope to the muzzle of the barrel–not the end cap of your shroud (if you use one). The current version of Chairgun have both the scope height and scope base. But one thing i’ve noticed is the scope height changes is effecting the poi very easily and the scope base doesn’t. Btw, I never used the scope base feature before

In strelok itself its mentioned G1 as outdated. So, for Airgunners it should be always GA

Cricket, the reason why I measure from the center of the windage turret is because the pin/screw that adjusts the erector tube (which holds the reticle) horizontally is located at or very close to the front of the erector tube. Moreover, the pin also contacts the center of the erector tube. So, on my Cricket I measure from there to directly below on the center of the barrel, not to the muzzle. Personally, doing it this way gets me as close as possible to precise values when I also enter the scope base measurement, which I obtain from measuring the distance from the windage turret to the muzzle.

If you’ve ever unscrewed the turrets of a scope you’ll see that they basically have a pin/screw on their axis that moves the erector tube by pushing and retracting it via the center of it.

Interesting, ln a cricket, should I measure from the front objective to the muzzle? That is to say the lens to the muzzle in order to get the exact number?

WOW am I glad I read this thread! I’m going to try this on my Vulcan/Hawke combo and my Crickets… Seeing the pics posted in that article sure makes sense to me, and since it originated from the Chairgun guru, it is likely spot on (pun intended)… :8:

if not, will another scope zeroed at the same, using same mounts on same position provide similar results??? just thinking.

Holy crap, that is a very interesting article. I just ordered a new scope and the minimum parallax is 22m or so, but it is a 4,5-30 so at 4,5 power maybe I can get close enough

Hemn, here you can find out what magnification your scope is true at, just print one out with correct distance and make sure you got the right format (measure the line at the bottom
