I dropped off my wife at Goodwill this afternoon because she wanted to see if she could save money on finding scrubs (work clothes). In preparation for my NC shroud arrival tomorrow, I decided to work on my pellet trap again. I went to Lowes and bought a $40 electric steel box. I then headed back to pickup my wife but she asked me to come in because she wasn’t done browsing. I was swearing up and down blaming her being a woman. Walking around trying to find my wife, I found this:
Brand spanking new steel medicine cabinet.
The box was nailed together pretty good but I wanted to make sure it was deep enough to put duct seal. Opened it and it was so it came home with me for $14.99. Before heading home, I stopped by Lowes and returned the electric box. I am very excited about it, perfect size. What I don’t get is why are there two mirrors on the side of the box if it is going to be inside the wall?
Question for those who use duct seal. Do I need to do multiple layers of the putty, or can one bar deep stop the pellet over and over?

IDK about that donnny…. Make sure you have a back stop of sorts behind that cabinet. With one layer of duct seal you may rip right through that medicine cabinet. you may wanna do 2 layers. Or back it up with some thing
Donny, don’t know about the duct seal, but my guess is it’s better if it’s deeper 😛
Seriously, I got a steel knock-down squirrel target from my neighbor. After preliminary sighting-in in the Edgun .25 to 30 yds, decided to give the steel nutter a shot; it bent the steel! The knock down paddle is seriously concave after a few hits. I’ll post some shooting pics when the friggin temperature gets non-lethal. Expecting 0 Mon. night. Not too bad at 18 right now…sigh. Was supposed to do some shooting Sat., a heat wave’s predicted of 36.
Maybe those mirrors are for folks that surface mount the box, or, if they detach, could they be shelves? Oh, they’re for optically aligning your scope!
Sweet thanks John, 1/16 = .0625 inches, I measured the back of this to be .093 inches (steel) so I think I am good.
For duct seal, one bar deep should be fine for .25 caliber, however I would reinforce the back with a piece of steel plate 1/16 thick just to make sure.

Mother f’er I am one bar short of filling it with one layer of duct seal. I bought all that Lowes had in stock. I don’t think I can double up Bogman, 1 bar is one pound. So far I have 17 but eventually 18 so that’s 18lbs plus the weight of the steel case. Not sure how I am going to mount it. I have no mature trees to nail it too. Just vinyl fences. Will probably put it on a chair leaning back on the fence.
