ShoeBox; 2 video tips
Finally used enough air from my Guppy tank to warrant a refill. Gee, it was down to 3,400 PSI and the Guppy will hold 4,500 PSI. it took under 58 minutes to do the 1,100 pound job. My PowerMate home shop compressor would rest a second or so over 4 minutes and then run for 21 to 24 seconds to build up the 90 PSI working pressure precharge.

This is the exact same fan from my office. I took the old one home and used it for the shoebox compressor and sprung for the big $10 for a new one for my office.
This is just a desk top fan. Any desk top fan will work. the one I have is about 9 inches in diameter and has high and low speed. I have the shoebox on a shelf and the shelf has room for the fan in front of the shoebox. I aim the fan at the pistons on the shoebox and turn on high. I am sure you could make something that fits inside the shoebox cabinet or something but really this is just too dam simple to pass up. will send picture similiar
Can you post a picture or your fan setup or a link to the walmart one so I know what one to look for.

I removed the cover and run a $10 fan from Walmart when the compressor is running. I hooked both up to a power strip and they both come on together. You can put your hand on the piston after running an hour. I slide the cover on with no bolts while storing it. I have an air station (shelf just for the air stuff) and it takes 30 seconds to put some grease on , plug in the air compressor flip the switch on the shoebox and off you go. I sent the manufacturer an e mail and they said they will start suggesting the fan. Everything seems to stay much cooler and it is cheap and easy.

I was all set to hook it up and I found out I need a 1/2 NPT for the air in WTF why not 1/4?
I also picked up some of the yellow coiled air hose.

Thanks, dang cellphone video camera did the job. Just had to tap the screen to get it to adjust for the brightness changing.
I got a 10 Pc. Craft Magnet Discs for 99 cents from Harbor Freight and hot glued 4 of them to the inside corners, like someone on ShoeBox forum did. Just 4 works great.
I also put a layer of clear tape on the inner edge of the box to keep from scratching the purdy red paint.
I think roachcreek was the first to mention that the cover had to be removed in order to disconnect the output hose. My twist tie took care of that but it was hard to operate with one hand while holding the camera in the other.

Yep, it works great. No rattle, stays together and easy removal.
I mentioned this on another TT thread but thought a video would be nice. I went to post the video to ShoeBox forum but see someone else came up with using rare earth magnets instead of rubber bands. I might pick some up at HF and try that too.
The other idea I came up with, a twist tie to pull the quick connector to release it, helps if you don’t use the easy off cover ideas.
Those were my first video posts. Hope you’ve got better internet speed than I have with Old Slow at&t.

Sacshooter, i found out you can oven dry those silicon beads. There is a post over on the YELLOW by James Brinkley about it.

And yeah, i 100% believe in some type of a cooling fan. As i work with elevators and escalators and hydraulics and such, their worst enemy is HEAT. Anything mechanical for that matter. So the shoebox needs to be kept as cool as possible.
I’ve thought about fitting a COMPUTER cooling fan at some point to the frame of the shoebox. MAYBE. They can be bought at FRY”s or Radio Shack.
