Shoebox !!
Just checked the list, I’m 3 down from the last person contacted. No idea what that means on timing but 3 is better than the 75 or so that were in front of me when i signed up.
I know … probably only exciting to me but I’m more excited than I was for christmas or my birthday.

i just got my shoebox ! WOW ! SUPER COOL ! it’s filling the first tank right now runs like a champ ! shut right off at 4500 psi when i pressured just then micro bore line , i have been waiting for this since new years night ! HA ! and now it’s running pumping away ! CCCOOOOOOOLLLL!!!!
BETTER YET ❗
The ShoeBox case screws fit so well I just installed them from the inside out 💡 💡
A few gromets to Install in the rear case screw holes and it just might be snug enough.
OR-
Glue on VELCRO tabs is the high-tech of the day.
We’re spoiled by central air and forgot how one low amp window fan used to cool the entire house. With the window fan, like the ShoeBox motor, cool air is drawn in where it is needed most.
Our other problem here is we don’t like to take the four screws and cover off every few hours to do the essential lubricating. Sorry I’ve forgotten who first suggested it but, replacing the case screws with thumb screws is a BRILLIANT IDEA ❗
Somewhere I’ve got some nylon or plastic Thumb Screws for a computer case. They may just be the thing.
Otherwise, four posts could be installed at the ShoeBox case holes AND two bungie cords or large rubber bands could secure the cover.
Oh, I’ve got some pop rivets that might work for the posts.
It was designed to be run with the cover on. Like a computer. Take the cover off and it will overheat. The fans keep it cool by pulling air over the cpu/cylinders cease to do their job. In this case the motor fan pulls air through the slots and over the pistons.
The computer case acts like the shoebox case in this situation. The best would be to have in a cold area. Maybe by the ac vent or window shaker? I don’t think the fan will cool the air enough to really be effective.
I can see the debate of, Fan blowing in a direction VS Directed tunnel air movement.
Leaving the cover on and having a fan blow air through the innards might have more affect at cooling ( or not! )………….but I don’t think hairs need splitting that close.
A directed fan or wind from a open source just would work well IMHO
I haven’t tried to run it with the cover on I had seen that on one of Tom’s post, I don’t really see how it will run cooler with the cover on! the thing I noticed is not the shafts getting hot just the cylinder housing the Aluminum cylinders on the outside. I will have to try it with the gaurd on, and see what I get but in my experience if you shut up things that generate heat you get more heat and the fan keep’t them as cool as can be!
You may need a fan if you run it without the cover. However it’s recommended by the manufacturer to leave the cover on. Take the cover off and it can’t draw the air in properly to cool. Just saying. Only thing that go hot on mine was the motor. I mean the pistons were warm but no problem lubing up with my fingers.
thanks for the information. yes I was planning on a $10 cvs fan pointed at it on the bench. simple but it will work. Good information on the top off too. just waht I was planning ontopping off 3000 psi alum scuba tank. could get fittings for direct to guns but scuba tank seems better. top off every time i use it and it will proobably take a 1/2 hour max. just being able to top off the tank will be awesome. 2900 psi fill pressure all the time at least. I would never fill from empty as it only cost $4 at scuba shop. not worth the abuse to shoebox to save $4 lol
Just a heads up I recieved my shoebox about a week ago, been busy with work so tonight Wed I had an Aluminum scuba tanks 3000 psi it was down to 2400 it was a tank I got along with a gun I bought from a member so my shoebox has been running an hr or so went up to 2650 so another hr it will be close to 3000psi these are great little machines for the money and built very nice! You guys have been talking about fans I let this run for an hr as I have seen post and videos on then running and they do get hot just the nature of the cylinders 😯 Anyway had an old computer fan so I rigged it up to run and headed it towards the two Aluminum cly, they are the only thing on this mahcine that will generate heat! and I will highly suggest anyone who has one get a small fan they make some small ones! mount it or just use it sitting next to the compressor blowing on the two cylinders! I laid my fingers on it before I had the fan blowing on it and it was hot, you don’t leave your finger there for long and like I said not trying to down grade this mahcine what so ever, but after putting the fan on it I can now lay my finger on it and leave it there cool as can be, a highly recomended modification and easy to do! I might just figure out a mounting system but you really don’t need one it is working just fine sitting in front of it just blowing on the two Aluminum cylinders! Just a good mod tip!
Not sure the fan would be necessary except maybe in the summer time.
Slayer,
Sooner than later you’ll switch to a SCBA system for the higher PSI
Check out Ebay. I bought from twohsieh a 45k 30min SCBA tank, delivered was $64. build date 1999.
There are others out there about that price.
I fill a 3000 psi scuba tank and topping that off from say 2600 would be great. i shoot my guns around 2800 when i can. I was planning on putting a small house fan pointing at mine when it arrives. 10$ quick and easy. I am not too concerned about heat because topping off my scuba tank should not be that much stress compared to what others are putting on this thing. I will look for a outdated higher pressure scuba tank.
I just adjusted the stock shut off. Maybe one centimeter to the right. My Joe B gauge stated 4600 at cut off and the tank has now cooled to about 43-4400 according to the ISI tank gauge. It has a green full line and I’m a good bit closer to that than the 4000psi mark. It does not have smaller increments. Better fill than I used to get at the scuba shop. This product rocks!!! It feels better not having to “sneak” around with my air usage lol!
But seriously this past Friday at 8 pm I said hey I’m gonna go plink tomorrow. Only had 2600 in the SCBA. Hooked up the shoebox. Left Saturday at noon with 4000 psi!!!! Just letting it run while I did my regulars!!! Also it’s seems to be most efficient topping off from 3000psi.
I shouldnt have given numbers in my example as i was only interested in the ease of adjustment (I found one that fits the ranges I’m interested but the documentation is lacking)
So what i meant to ask is if you decided to change the pressure cut off on yours… Is it an easy task?
I like the cooling fins. Anodizing came out great.

Finger tight screws would be nice. I have been just using two on the opposite corners so two less screws. The cover stays on well and doesn’t rattle.
