Shoebox !!
Just checked the list, I’m 3 down from the last person contacted. No idea what that means on timing but 3 is better than the 75 or so that were in front of me when i signed up.
I know … probably only exciting to me but I’m more excited than I was for christmas or my birthday.

Were you able to find bearing’s that were drop in or did you have to enlarge holes etc?
Can the pressure cut off switch be changed easily from say 3000psi when filling a gun to 4350psi if I wanted to fill my tank afterwards or is it something that is better set and left alone?

Amen to the pellet usage, I shoot so much more now that I have mine.
Having the pygmee to take with me and have 120 shots during the bird predation season, compared to 30 shots and hit the house for a fill, and then only to fill the Pgymee from the 44 cu ft tank, is mind boggling, I may need a airdrop shipment from Pyramid. If the predator pellets are out, 700 birds in 4 weeks will turn this place into a ripped open pillow.

That is the switch I have. I have set it to 4,400 PSI and it stops at that pressure (+/- 25 PSI) every time.
I use a desiccant filter and water trap on the input of my Shoebox. If no moisture goes in, no moisture can come out, a least as far as I know.
I’ve had mine about a month and haven’t hooked it up yet. I like that pressure switch! Can you set the cut off pressure on it? Where did you get it?
I am going to run mine off of my shop compressor. I have filters and driers that will go between the shop compressor and the shoebox. I would love to find a cooling coil and drier that are rated for 4500 psi, without spending an arm and a leg.
Anyone have any ideas where I could find them?

I had some of the parts on the self, left from past projects, so I do not have an accurate cost.
My best guess $150.00 and the Shoebox cost about $400.00. So $550.00 total, I compare that to the next alternative, a Scuba compressor might cost second hand, $3,000.00. That makes the Shoebox a great buy at twice the price. 😀
One thing I did not consider when I purchased the Shoebox is, the cost of pellets. I have been shooting much more, now that I do not have to leave home to get HPA.

Let me start by saying, what I have done to my Shoebox are things I wanted to change, not things that needed to be changed. My Shoebox worked great out of the box. I just can not leave anything stock, just me.
1. I installed an electrical pressure switch to control the shut off pressure.
2. I removed the fuse block and replaced with a resettable breaker.
3. I installed a cooling fan.
4. I made and installed aluminum cooling heat sinks to the cylinders. These I home anodized.
5. I removed the toggle on/off switch and replaced with two push buttons (ON/OFF) and a latching relay.
6. I replaced most of the bushing with ball bearings.
7. I have a timing belt drive system on order to replace the chain drive supplied. This will me a test, to see if it holds up.
8. I replaced the cover screws with captive thumb screws, no tools required to remove the safety cover.

What modifications have you done to youe shoebox?
I got my email, paid same day, got notice that it would be 1-2 weeks. UPS delivered it 2 days later. 😯
Been modifying that Shoebox ever since. 😀
You’ll love it, make sure you have some Lithium synthetic grease on hand, they run on grease.
Do not use anything that has petroleum in it, makes the seals swell.

I just got the build notification and paid for it!!!
1-2 weeks to ship. I have enough Air to last me that long and I have all the bits I need (i think). Just need to clear a safe spot in the workroom to set the works up.

No quick fix all needle and ball bearings to be used required the mechanisms (linkages, mounts, shafts, etc.) to be modified by machining or replacing.
The pressure switch I used is good from 4,000 up to about 7,000PSI, I have it set for 4,300. The one I used will not reliably go lower than 4,000 PSI. I’m sure you can locate one, I just can not give you a source and or parts number, sorry.
