Q:

Shooting the Edgun inside my house at 2 AM. How quiet is it?

The Edgun is so quiet that when used in conjunction with the add-on SM, I was able zero my new scope while my wife and four year old were asleep and neither of them woke up! I was shooting from my family room into the garage where I had a couple of phone books set up. My house is only 1550 square feet so I thought it was pretty impressive that neither one of them heard a thing and believe me, my wife would have said something if I had woken her up with the sound of me shooting my pellet gun inside the house at 2 AM. lol:

Have you guys ever used Burris Signature Rings? They are the best thing since sliced bread! When using my other rings or the burris rings with the zero offset inserts that come with the rings, I had to crank my scope’s elevation dial up to the max in order to zero at 30 yards. I took my Burris Signature rings off of one of my powder burners and mounted it on the Edgun. I then drove to buy a set of Burris Posi-Align Offset Inserts.

Burris Signature Riflescope Rings also accept Burris Sign Ring Pos-Align Offset Inserts so you can virtually sight-in your gun without moving the riflescope adjustments. Lens systems perform at their optimum when all lenses are optically centered. By keeping the internal optics centered, you’ll see through the riflescope all of the clarity, sharpness, and brightness that the optics designers intended for you to see. The Burris Pos Align Offset Signature Inserts also correct for any mis-alignment caused by receiver holes drilled off center, or the bases or rings being slightly off perfect center.

I started by finding the center adjustment for my windage and the center adjustment for my elevation and then positioned the inserts so that the scope would point down toward the barrrel. I ended up going from a maxed out scope to zeroing my scope without touching the internal adjustments. I will shoot tomorrow or Saturday and fine tune the scope settings with the windage and elevation knobs but now I have the full range of adjustments back. I forgot how much I love these rings until now. Well I better go to sleep now since it’s past 3 am here.

I’m sorry for not trusting you Kiba but I just had to know for sure…

I’ve sent an email to burrisoptics.com :
I am sending this email in hope that you will solve my dilemma . I have a 30mm tube scope and a Weaver rail on the gun.
I want to buy the Burris Signature Ring High and the Pos-Align Offset Insert Kit . Although I found the 30mm rings ,
there no sign of 30mm inserts. Am I supposed to use the 1 inch insert or I have to search harder for the 30mm insert ?
This is very confusing…
Also, I live in Romania and I want to buy the setup from America. Is there a dealer closer to me than that ?
Please send me a link showing exactly what to buy and where to buy it .
Thank you for your time!

and the replay:

Dear Customer,

The 30mm rings come only with 0’s and 10’s and that is all we make. Here is a link to our Romania dealer.

http://www.beretta.com/Romania/index.aspx?m=115&f=1&ids=1157&did=1784

So Kiba was right… To bad, all my friends have 30mm scopes and it’s becoming more and more popular because of the benefits that this size brings.

I’ve dreamed of zeroing at 50 yards optically centered, or maybe even more, and even using the second mildot above target as a zero so I can use all my elevation mildot ( as I have only 4 🙂 ) without using the internal adjustments . 🙄

Well, at least I’ll buy them cheap from a dealer near by 😀

I’ll let you know more when they’ll arrive to me.

You are welcome dvdrw… I think you are correct.. I have gaps between the
insert that came with the rings so I don’t see and issue if the 1″ inserts are
the same way…..

Kiba….God bless you 🙂 I hope the .010 will be enough… Maybe they don’t offer the inserts kit for 30 mm because you can use the 1″ ones. The inserts are flexible and I guess the difference will be that you will have a 2mm on each side between the top and bottom inserts. Not a big deal, right ?

I want to thank Varminter for opening the topic and mam for taking the time to help.

that makes sense kiba….

The 30mm Signature Zee rings come with a full set of zero and +/- .010 offset inserts. You do not have to buy any extra inserts nor do they offer them for the 30mm rings.

The 1″ Signature Zee rings on the other hand only come with zero offset inserts and you have to purchase offset inserts separately which you can get in +/- .005, .010, or .020.

I’m still hoping sooner or later Burris will offer +/- .020″ offset inserts for the 30mm rings.

This is a +10 and -10 together and two 0 inserts together .. The +10/-10 is
on the left….

+10/-10 = OD 1.24″ / 31.66mm ID 1″/25.67mm

0 = OD 1.396″ / 35.47mm ID 1.156″ / 29.35mm

These inserts are very plyable so it seems they would fit no matter what but
even with them in my hand I am still confused…. Seems that if you had 2
+10 and 2 -10 you could even mount a 1″ tubed scope…… Hope this helps
more than confuses you… You might want to call Burris and have a little chat.

I did a search and came up with the same results that you did… I know the
rings come with inserts but I can’t tell you if the inserts fit both the 30mm and
the 1″…. I put the +10 in the back and the -10 in the front and also shimmed
the back even more to get what I wanted…. With these inserts you can’t
really kink the scope tube by shimming…. I never tighten my clamps more
than snug anyway.. It is not like there are any vibrations that will ever loosen
the screws…

It was like yesterday since last Christmas so I figured that a 24 hour after-post will not be too late. 😆
Anyone with a good link for me (us) ? At least a PM… 😥 My Matador is waiting …

to arrive 🙄

😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

Great idea! I like those rings.

I have windage rings on my SS and used my laser to adjust the scope rings without playing with the scope adjustment. I’ve always wondered if there was a better answer out there… thanks for sharing.

Ah, but you’re a Texan, you got an excuse… 😉 😆 😆

Takes even less to confuse me… I could not figure out what “op” was… 😆

That confused me, op date is Dec 11…….. 2009! 😆

Doesn’t take much :banghead:

Did you had to use Pos-Align Inserts or were you on target ? I want to buy the same setup but I found just the rings here,
http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=485115
and the inserts here
http://www.opticsplanet.net/burris-signature-pos-align-offset-insert-kits-individual-inserts.html
but the inserts kit are just for 1″rings. I can’t find the 30mm inserts. Are they supposed to be like that or I am missing something ? If the 1″ insert is for 30mm rings how come I can’t find smaller inserts for the 1″ rings ? I am lost. Can anybody help me with some links from where to buy the correct setup for my Matador 30mm scope ?

Man, I got the Burris Rings in today… After an hour of fiddling with them,
I got the scope on and leveled…. I sure hope this gives me the extra
yardage I was looking for because if not, I am going to put these things
out at the target and shoot the crap out of them until there is nothing
left…. Ya heard !?!?!?!?!?!??!!??! 😮 :4 😡
