Q:

Shooting the Edgun inside my house at 2 AM. How quiet is it?

The Edgun is so quiet that when used in conjunction with the add-on SM, I was able zero my new scope while my wife and four year old were asleep and neither of them woke up! I was shooting from my family room into the garage where I had a couple of phone books set up. My house is only 1550 square feet so I thought it was pretty impressive that neither one of them heard a thing and believe me, my wife would have said something if I had woken her up with the sound of me shooting my pellet gun inside the house at 2 AM. lol:

Have you guys ever used Burris Signature Rings? They are the best thing since sliced bread! When using my other rings or the burris rings with the zero offset inserts that come with the rings, I had to crank my scope’s elevation dial up to the max in order to zero at 30 yards. I took my Burris Signature rings off of one of my powder burners and mounted it on the Edgun. I then drove to buy a set of Burris Posi-Align Offset Inserts.

Burris Signature Riflescope Rings also accept Burris Sign Ring Pos-Align Offset Inserts so you can virtually sight-in your gun without moving the riflescope adjustments. Lens systems perform at their optimum when all lenses are optically centered. By keeping the internal optics centered, you’ll see through the riflescope all of the clarity, sharpness, and brightness that the optics designers intended for you to see. The Burris Pos Align Offset Signature Inserts also correct for any mis-alignment caused by receiver holes drilled off center, or the bases or rings being slightly off perfect center.

I started by finding the center adjustment for my windage and the center adjustment for my elevation and then positioned the inserts so that the scope would point down toward the barrrel. I ended up going from a maxed out scope to zeroing my scope without touching the internal adjustments. I will shoot tomorrow or Saturday and fine tune the scope settings with the windage and elevation knobs but now I have the full range of adjustments back. I forgot how much I love these rings until now. Well I better go to sleep now since it’s past 3 am here.

Does that mean the price for weaver rail is included with the gun?

Yep.

All guns sent out of Russia are equiped with the weaver base. In Russia the default is dovetail and people can choose what they want. The weaver cost a little more.

Did you guys notice the scope mounts on the Edgun pics that showed what appeared to be removable scope mounts?

They had levers where the screws normally are, down by the dovetails.

Anyone ever try those? Curious as to loss of zero if taken off and put back on.

Further, Mam…did your Edgun come with the Weaver mount rail or dovetail?

Is there a choice from Tony, or do all of them come with the same type scope mount rail? Inquiring minds need to know so the proper mounts are ready when the Edgun rings the doorbell.

Mine came with a Weaver rail… I have read on the website that it is
optional.. I didn’t specify or pay extra for it…. I had both types of rings
here waiting when it got here… I am using low profile mounts with a
60mm objective… Fits perfect…. I have about 3mm clearance between
the objective and the shroud…. I have not seen an EDgun without the
Weaver rail yet.

Mine came with the weaver rail, not sure about other guns.

I think the weaver rail is an option for about $50 more…

Oh, now I gotta buy more stuff… Thanks alot shankapotamus.. 😆

The burris signature rings only come with the zero offset inserts. You’ll have to buy the posi-align kit if you want to make changes but it’s cheap. You should be able to find them for less than $15 shipped.

I ended up using the -20 on the bottom of the front ring and the +20 on the bottom of the front ring. I used the -10 on the top of the back ring and the +10 on the bottom of the back ring. The Edgun’s rail was very close when it came to windage but the kit was definitely needed for the elevation.

You cant beat those Burris Signature rings. No more tube marring or bending and like you said it allows for unlimited adjustments. I have been using them for years now and could not understand why they were not more popular. It took me 4 different configurations to align my air rifle and best of all NO MORE LAPPING RINGS to mount a scope properly.

Man I tell ya… Just when I think I have my guns set up the way I want
them, SOMEBODY has to stay up late and come up with a better
idea. 😯 Now I am shopping for Burris scope rings that will solve
my 200yd adjustment problem…. Dang you Varminter.. From now on
you have a curfew of 10:00PM……. 😆 😉

Thanks a lot for your order! This email is to confirm the receipt of your recent order from our http://www.OpticsPlanet.com online store.
