endo, can you please post a picture of the barrel, pointing out the markings that identify it as a German or Taiwanese barrel? I’d like to see it to compare it to mine which arrives tomorrow.

These idiots are trying to destroy Tauman? This is not Tauman’s doing. Tauman is in a war torn country that has all kinds of restrictions on it on what can be imported and exported from the Ukraine so we know it will be some time before they come with CZ barrels. However the guns being purchased: compacts taupans are the same ones that came into the US initially. These guns are the ones they couldn’t sell because of the whole Korean made barrels maked as german. These are not new guns sent across the pond from Tauman. This is Peter saying he will rebarrel the Mutant Babys with CZ type barrels. And take a look he is not. This is Not Tauman this numb-skull Peter. Don’t be confussed it is PETER FROM TGAG.
Petr replied this morning to an email I sent him yesterday about the barrels for the Short. He explained the barrels from another Czech barrel maker are of high quality and made in the same way as LW barrels. LW barrels are made using the button process (see here: http://www.lothar-walther.com/308.php ). In searching the web to inform myself of button-rifled barrels I am of the opinion that these barrels can be very good long-range shooters, but as with barrels made using other methods much depends on the barrel maker. Both button-rifled and cut-rifled barrels are less expensive to make than cold-forged barrels due to tooling costs. It’s my understanding that cold-forged barrels are no more inherently accurate than either of the former types. Again, from what I’ve read it really depends on the barrel maker as in the persons doing the work.
As for Petr, he should be expected address any concerns his customers have, with the expectation that he will do right by them.

I agree with you 100% Oaks. I bought the gun because it was advertised as having a CZ or Czech barrel. I will hold Peter accountable for that trust me. I am waiting for his response as I type.
If the German barrel turns out to be quite accurate everything is all good. However, I still want a CZ or Czech barrel as advertised without extra costs involved. Otherwise, it is just plain false advertisement and I will need to take action. Plain and simple.
Hopefully, he steps up to the plate and delivers what he promised. I sometimes wonder why what these dealers are thinking. We are not fools. We keep them in business. Where is the love? Perhaps greed is too powerful for some to resist…

Now if it shoots like shit give peter a call and ask that he give you a new barrel when he get his shipment. After all you did buy the gun from peter with the whole Czech barrel promise. that’s sound advice, dman. Petr will ship the Shorts with some barrel or another. If the one I receive winds up being more accurate than I am, how could I complain? If not, I’d give Peter a chance to rectify the problem, then i’d go all meech1456 on him if he didn’t. 
Not to worry in any case because Petr says he will test each Short for accuracy before shipping. I know Petr Plesinger as a man of his word.

That symbol and a number 12 located underside near the breach, and yeah the muzzle threads (3 ea) are flat at the 12:00 position. Gotta get some lead downrange tomorrow.

Three Dimples on top…. Flat spot on the muzzle threads Top side (make sure its there) … and this symbol underside close to breach
I don’t think any of the CZ Shorty barrels either true CZ or barrels machined from the same area of CZ will arrive till late next month at the earliest. I’m sure Jamie knows the most accurate time frame.
