Snow clone BP
So someone on the GTA forum pressed Mike from Citrus Airguns for the price he’s going to set on the p12 and he’s saying $1000. Guess I’ll just be sticking with my Crickets.

How s about we drop the “L” and call it the “Snow Cone”?
I do believe the overall mechanism and layout is directly lifted from the early R2 Edguns…
Looky here…

Early Edgun:

Snow Clone:

Yeah the breach part is wider, but it’s basically the same shape, the tube threads on to the valve and the Edgun goes inside the tube, but…
Looks far more similar than different…. :suprisedn: :suprisedn: :suprisedn: :suprisedn:
Compare the action of the Cricket to the Edgun and it’s more different than similar, compare it to a MRod and it’s more different. Anyway you slice it this is an Edgun early R2 clone.
The distributor will make or break this deal on these guns, good to here he is a already an air gun guy and does good work. It will be fun to see where to nudge the hobby. If they end up with a good barrel and can spit some air behind it they will please, airguns are not rocket science, they are 90% barrel. Sorry but I still think the ” Snow Clone ” name is funny and hell, even if girl in a jetta likes it or not. Sorry, Jetta had it coming. :biggrinn:
Mike at citrus has a good rep from what i hear…. He says that he will make them quiet up to his standards…. He does some dam good tuning on the marauders. so If he gives these “stingers” the treatment then they should be good to go. Ive been thinking about this… I think this gun has a lot of potential. The price… well If i get one and it shoots like wing mans… I think that i could put china aside and smile. what do we have out there even at that price range in a rifle that will shoot like that?
These guns defiantly have peeked the interest of many and i think we just need to see how they perform by numbers. If parts are available and the customer service is there. these will be a hit.
X2. I agree I’ll probably wait as well to see how well of a job that Wang Pull industries does in building it. Make sure none explode or corrode prematurely.
Well, I for one will definitely wait a considerable time before I consider buying something from Wang Po Industries for that much. When someone without the skills to rebuild the thing gets tired of it not working, I might be able to pick one up at a much more reasonable price and fix it.
Not sure why this is being compared to a Marauder. If I can pick up a nice shooting, decent quality .177 cal BP for this price, then I’m in. If it shoots well consistently, then I’ll happily replace the O-rings myself and save $1200.00. Whoops, sorry make that $1198.50, I forgot the cost of the O-rings.
There’s no offense there, What you say has a lot of truth !!! if I was to design one myself it would necessarily retain a lot of that look too. The P12 was so overboard that we all initially thought it was a nut and bolt clone though. I am designing on a concept version that I think is best of all breeds combined, you can rag on me good when my sketches come out. 😀
I did not start or name the thread but it is pretty clear Snow Peak went after the Edgun 2.5 trade dress and appearance to the point that everyone considered it a clone up until Wingman dissected it. Since the question was asked recently what we will ultimately refer to it as, I think Snow Clone is at least partly just. I’d take it as a pet name suggestion kind of like a mrod or prod. T herewith out the name ” Wingman ” since he has put so much effort into it. I doubt he wants it as a namesake though.
Why is it still being referred to as a “Clone”?

I do own and run my own business so I understand how to make a profit and what’s involved in making one after all costs including taxes are paid so one can have a decent life.
I can only enlighten those with an open mind. 🙂

Do you work for free? Do you own a business and make no profit? Do you know how much of a capital investment the distributor will need to make in order to get guns before a sale is even made?
Please!!!
If you feel that strongly about greed then sell your toys and everything other than the barest of essentials to live and give all money to starving kids in third world countries.

Does anybody really think these won’t sell like hotcakes? Look at what Cricket did with its pricing and availability compared to Edgun. Simple business model. Available product plus cheaper price gets quick sales to demanding market. Now people are waiting on Cricket orders. Do you think the Chinese manufacturing machine will have problems with supply? Hell no.
If these guys come in around a grand many will justify buying the new kid.
The Uneducated masses buy Gamos by the tons. If the distributor can “market” these he’ll clear his shelves faster than he can stock. Then Crosman will release their pup on every Walmart shelf and we will see a whole new wave.
