Q:

Steve at SSairguns will not return calls

I will probably be banned for this, but my patience has run out. Over a month and a half ago I placed an order and payed for this order with paypal.

Steve has not delivered the items that I paid for and now he will not answer his phone or emails. He will NOT return the messages that I have left him on numerous occasions.

I can understand if there is a problem with the suppliers, but to make no effort to let a customer know what is going on with their order is unacceptable.

I have ordered rifles from him before and lots of other stuff and I have defended him to other posters.

I am saying excuses are like assholes. Everyone has one and they all STINK.

I have the problem with SSairguns for this simple reason.

NO COMMUNICATION.

I have waited over a YEAR for an air rifle the Beeman Crow Mag in .22 when they were first introduced. I bought it from Airguns-R-Us. This was a long time to wait. But I was at least provided with information and returned calls.

Steve at SSairguns for weeks did NOT…. repeat did NOT return my calls or answer my emails. I find this practice unacceptable. If ya’ll don’t mind giving your money to a business and then getting absolutely no return calls or answers then that is fine. I personally want a returned call.

Steve only called me after I made all my posts on the web at different places and made a complaint with paypal. WOW…. amazing.

I have ordered a lot from Steve at SSairguns including two rifles.

If he is having problems with his suppliers….. that is NOT my problem. A simple phone call or email would have informed me of this, but to be left in the dark is not the way to do business. I understand he has a life and a business outside of airguns. But I did not force him to go into the airgun business.

I spoke with him today and still he does not have some things, supposed to be in next week. Said that the stuff was supposed to be in this week. He has my two BSA bottles, but is waiting on a magazine that is now “supposed” to be in next week.

As I have said before, time will tell. I ordered stuff from other dealers last weekend, and they arrived today. No problems there. Even got a phone call to discuss my order. That is what I call service.

I am sorry there are those that think I jumped the gun. Well, deal with it. I don’t think that buying from a seller and then getting absolutely no return calls or email answer is jumping the gun.

I even have gotten phone calls coming to Steve’s defense. Great – how about this…. for all of you who are so concerned with Steve and SSairguns. Why don’t you send me my money and when I get my stuff from Steve I will send it back to you.

That is…. put your money where your mouth is… my paypal is texasjustice@lawyer.com. I spent 240 dollars. If you don’t want to back your phone calls and emails telling me what a great guy Steve is and that I should be patient, then shut the HELL UP and leave me the FUCK alone.

With all do respect. Not that profitable? That I can understand. But I can’t understand taking peoples money and then saying the reason you haven’t gotten the stuff you paid for is because “I’m not making any money” That my friend is a bunch of bullshit. Ain’t nobody can sell that horse to me.

i would like to know where you got confused about not receiving a product because the ‘root’ company is being difficult.
this is the same situation when airforce didnt send him enough trirails for a while.
i understand paul’s problem about no simple calls being made, but you have taken it as an effort/cost reasoning? it is the supplier not him thats the problem.
i had an experience with a very long wait with someone who had over $1000 of my stuff, i didnt make an outburst about it, even though i wasnt ‘compensated’. its just the way some businesses can get.
i may have missed out on 3+ months of playing with a new toy, but i got it

he just got too busy with the business and it got in the way of real life.
everyone should remember that this is not a profitable thing for him, its ‘on the side’ and he is OK and just needs this month to catch up with his family and such.

my comment here is relating to his inactivity toward responding to the post regarding his wellbeing

3 months….not too bad. I had a 6month wait for a gun once. I had to wait in line with everyone else to have the work done. Now in retail if he is having problems with his source then he should give the customer the heads up and let them choose to go somewhere else.

Adam,

You put that well, much better than I could so I won’t try to one up you. Once you take somebody’s money for a service you purport to provide you have an obligation to see it thru. No excuses unless your dead. None, none at all.

I am a contractor. My phones (emails, faxes,) ring morning noon and night. I make each and every customer feel that they are the ONLY customer I have. Yeah, I get spun up every day trying to please everyone but thats what I took on when I started this. It comes with the territory. I have to contend with a lot of compettition from outfits one hundred times larger than myself…… but I do it and am achieving some notable success because of my customer service. I’m proud of that.

No harm intended,

Respectfully,

DH

If he has time to take orders and money, then he has time to send out product. When a business is closed they put a sign on the door saying so. He should leave a message on he website saying he is not open this month and a message on his answering machine.

CLOSED FOR THE SEASON WILL REOPEN JANUARY 1 2008

Well, time will tell indeed. A couple of minutes after posting all my posts on this ridiculous ordeal, Steve called. He explained he was having a misunderstanding with one of his suppliers (Pyramid) and could not get what I ordered. Wow that took a lot of effort to tell me that, since he has had my money for over a month. The other things he could not get either from AoA because they are not here from Jolly Old England….

I told him to refund my money. He explained he would have TWO BSA bottles in TODAY and he would send me both the BSA bottles and refund the balance.

I am a criminal defense lawyer, so I don’t know how to write nasty letters…. LOL….. and I am very patient man, but somehow the fact of not responding at all and letting me know the status really got my goat. And pissed me the Hell off. I posted every place I could and filed a complaint the paypal.

All of this effort to get a simple phone call or email is just too much for me. Shooting airguns are for relaxing and enjoyment. Having the stress and headache of buying airgun stuff does NOT add to part of the fun.

Now I will play the waiting game. See if I get my bottles and my money.

And yes Adam………..along with the continued extreme alcohol abuse I just can’t get my hand out of the “medicine jar”. Last night after drinking a case of Heineken I popped two Betty’s and a Dino. Man was I Flintstoned. 😛 😛 😆

Your Boy,

Dirty Harry

It’s possible that ol’ Paul here is tired of walking around humming “Patience” by Gun’s & Roses to himself. 😛 😛

Well hard to say what has happened but as with some I have had good dealings with Steve but it could like all of us between work and family time is non existant but an response is certainly well deserved here as even if this is a sideline business communication is key to service.

I am sure it will all work out but I can understand how you just want your order status updated.

Randy

My brother ordered an SS from SSAirguns a couple of months ago with good service and shipment on his gun. A couple of weeks ago, I sold my AA S410 and was ready to buy a second SS and emailed SSAirguns to talk about a couple of options, as I was planning on ordering from him.

I too never got any response and finally contacted AF directly this past Friday and was just going to order from them. Funny thing is, the factory was selling the rifle for $499.95. While looking on thier website, I found that there was a dealer only 80 miles from me and his price was $474.00. I took a trip up there this past Saturday morning and 3 hours turnaround time, I was home with the new SS and lots of extras.

Paul; Write one of those annoying letters for which your profession is so noted. This seems to get some people’s attention but not all.

In your service provider’s defense, this gent has a great history of tuning, rebuilding and innovation. He’ll be in touch in time. AKULA

A little heads up goes along way. When “.25 Annuzzi” was building my .25 Condor he was available to keep me apprised. I was amazed at how patient he was after making my six hundredth phone call. 🙂 🙂 But I slept well at night just for the simple fact that Tony took the time to assure me of the progress, set a firm ship date, and delivered right on time.

I think the Jack Daniels and Jim Beam aided in your sleeping at night also…LOL
