Q:

Sub 12fpe section

The information and opinion submitted to this forum is undoubtedly both useful and entertaining but for me it can be a bit confusing. While the majority of postings originate in the non power regulated U.S.A. some is from the U.K. where our laws limit us to 12fpe. Not all the advice given here is therefore applicable to U.K. based rifles and it’s all too easy to get the ‘wrong end of the stick’ when seeking a solution to a U.K. based problem.

Would there be any support for a new section dedicated to sub-12fpe rifles where Brits and American low power shooters could pool their specific experience and knowledge?

Hi,

I use a micro-meter tank with a .22 TalonSS and I get several hundred shots per tank starting at 3000psi.
I use this setup to shoot indoor at 10yds for target practice. It feels like it lasts forever 🙂
I easely shot more than 300 shots, if I am not too picky on the final 100 shots drop.

Since I use 14.3gr pellets I get a muzzle energy just about to 12fpe.

So go get one!

Cheers
Chris

Uk gun sub 12 ft lb should Ive been led to belive give @ 300 shots a charge ???

Interested in feedback as well. I have several Condors and Talons… and with the exception of my Airrow gun, I have detuned them all.

I currently have a TalonSS running at 13/14fpe in .22
Talon w/ 24 inch barrel in .22 running at 20fpe (regulated)
Talon with 18 inch barrel in .177 running at 14-16fpe (regulated)
Condor in .25 currently set at around 60fpe
and my airrow gun…

I know I’m over 100 shots easy with the regged guns, and on the TalonSS, I’m not sure how many shots I’m getting, but it’s more than a lot.

Just bought a Uk Gunpower Stealth 12 ftlb I will watch this post so first interest!!!!, I am on Isle of Wight (UK!), got a .177 coming complete with Charge adapter and silencer

Hi Libra,

sorry for the low feedback.
Kinda be expected as most shooters in the US will definitely try to stay above the 12fpe, if they can, unless in competition.
Maybe you could look for some competition forums where the use of the Airforce Edge might be more common and thus more tuning hints for that platform would be available.

I shoot low power indoor for training, but just to save air and have more shots (I use a pump and that helps) but I go full power when shooting outdoor, or hunting.
I cannot speak for everybody here in the US, but I have a feeling that this is a vary common practice around here.
Since we do not have limitations by law, there is little interests in low power applications unless, as mentioned, competing.

It would be interesting to have a section dedicated to 12fpe and below, but I think you would need to recruit more UK fellows into this forum.

Cheers
Chris

Eleven days, sixty-one ‘reads’, no support. I guess that says it all.
