Tactical Bullpup stock – DIY Project

I have started working on the new Bullpup stocks for most reservoir type PCPs. The below sketches are concept design, I will start building after finished my AUG bullpup backlogs.
The initial target is America’s most popular PCP model, Marauder, because it comes with big fat heavy and ugly shape stock. I cannot believe so many people are using the original wood stock.
The concept is very similar to the very successful small company, named Center Balanced Systems and always having full of backorders.

Marauder (with Gauge type)

Hatsan AT44 (without Gauge type)

BSA Scorpion

The drop-in installation is more easy: first, install the Quad rail; then, drop-in and tight up the installation-screw. Second, hook up trigger-link and close butt- cover; then, tight up by end-cap screw.
All material is Aluminum and hard plastic (partially rubber), the cost is planned about $100, quad-rail (RIS) remains same as per request of my hunting group guys.

Clip-on Cheek-rest

I always used aftermarket RIS (Rail Interface System) with minor modification. Because Ruger 10/22 is the most popular Rimfire and many aftermarket parts and accessories are available at lower price
Walmart is selling at $25.01:

Note: This DIY stock can be applied for most reservoir type PCP models.
I have a great respect to airgun bullpup stock sellers (builders), because PCP airgun is very tiny market,; therefore, any known stock makers have never been entered in PCP airgun market, such as ATI, Hogue, Tapco, Troy, ProMag, Butler Creek…. In addition, PCP bullpup stocks are much more tiny, niche market. It is very very very (3-verys) risky venture in current poor economy. They do not have Communication Dept. Sales and Marketing Dept. Customer Service Dept. QA Dept. Accounting Dept…. because of one or few men operation. Their efforts are priceless, if you do not respect, your alternatives will be DIY, or buy Russian bullpup airguns, Evanix Max, or make your fist and punch yourself. I am pretty tied up. Hello “unclejack”

I am new into this forum, which I ended up finding in my search for bullpup kits for my AT 44-10 Long. That pleased me most is tthat uses the Steyr AUG stock.
I wonder if you can say the measurements of aluminum parts I’ll have to manufacture, and what specific type of rail ris, to be able to order.
It is a work of such! In addition to beautiful, it was highly functional in regard to the repetition of shooting without taking the face of the gun!

Alter-real

1. Shroud extension
I added the below shroud extension to this Bullpup, to eliminate noise.

See more below my old post:
http://www.talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=24566

2. Safety and trigger-link
Unlike wood stock bullpups, all chassis type bullpup are similar, no trigge-link troubles as well as
no safety troubles, by shifting or losing screws (unless significantly damaged or dropped).
Generally, woods shrink or expand by humidity or temperature changes, especially for soft woods, which most likely generate mechanical stress to trigger-link and safety (if any).
You may refer to real guns’ bullpup forum for more detail reports.

I made 9 units of these chassis type bullpups for my hunting group guys, no major issues were reported yet.

As you can see on my BP Marauder P, safety button stays hidden into the stock, so, i´m not using it. Replacing the end cap for a home made 1/2 x 20UNF adaptor i get the silent weapon on my gun rack, (with the Bolt Action .22LR too 🙄 😉 ).

So, no further mods by now.

So did you end up getting one from unclejack, or did you build your own? What intrigues me about these is the possibility to put in a longer barrel with a longer shroud, and to add a reservoir extension, all while keeping a relatively short overall length. Did you consider and/or implement any of these concepts?
Also, I’m curious about the trigger and safety operation and reliability. Have you encountered any issues? Any need for ongoing linkage adjustments or things of that nature?

I’m shooting mine everyday 🙂

I thought you have the same/similar ideas of my hunting group.
The concept of mid balance stocks (bullpup) is low material cost and shot work time to distribute to my hunting group. The material must be synthetic/aluminum under the usage of wet and dusty dry condition. Furthermore, all stocks must be complete drop-in unit, not requiring both pre-installation of trigger with trigger linkage and safety, and modifications to the factory original hardware, understanding of my all hunting group users.
That’s the reason of why I first picked up some cheap airsoft bullpup stocks, in order to save both work time and material cost. I did about 20units of Steyr AUG stock mods because of mechanically strong (3.5mm thick plastic wall, and some are glass fiber contained plastic), and cheap cost (junked AUG stocks – avg. $30-40). But, it became hard to get cheap junked AUG stocks as per my hunting group guys. So I decided to start this Aluminum/plastic chassis bullpup, but I decided to use as many as low cost aftermarket parts, in order to save my work time. In addition, I gathered all requests from my hunting group, such as install steady (better than original stock), washable, many weaver rails (not dove tail rails), acceptable weight, better gripping in wet condition (rubber)… to be more practical hunting use bullpup units. (Sometime, we use plastic shopping bug to cover scope and breech housing in light rain/snow or dusty day, but not entire stock.)
There are many beautiful and well made rifle stocks that are available from various manufacturers, laminate or premium wood, or even better quality product than the original stock for a unit that generally has the same balance and feel of the original rifle. But, wood material does not suitable for our hunting group.
Good luck for your project !

One more time, tks for your time!

These bullpup stocks were the candidates when I started making bullpup mods.
But, these airsoft stocks have some major concerns for work time or physical concerns; FAMAS has thin plastic walls; F2000 has structural concern for mod (more work time); Bikal was already discontinued and very hard to get; CX4 does not have pressure gauge space… Actually, I did not finished them (but I am using them for decoration), I only did airsoft Steyr AUG stock mod (you may find my past posts.).
The following are private builder’s bullpup mods:
Baikal for Hatsan AT44 from Russian forum

FAMAS for QB78 from California builder

Tks for the measures, do you have any info, (measures and/or tech data), about the bullpups in your signature? (The FN2000 and other 3 in the GIF)

Tks again Mate!

Thanks anyway, perhaps knowing butts measures that are in your signature, some serve for the model I have

Butt covers are made to meet most popular tactical butt pads (see below sketch):

None of my hunting group has pistol type PCP. No plan to make for pistol models.

Completed butt cover type S2 (with 6-position stock butt pad) for my hunting group guy’s choices.
