I have a Tony Tuned SS(.22), had a SS(.17) that I sold and gave my niece my Tony Tuned Talon(.20) with 24″ HW Barrel(by do I miss that gun but its being used on the farm…)
Thinking Condor now, its gotta be accurate and consistent, and would like more than 35fpe as I have lots of pcps that are 30fpe and under but only have 3 with 50fpe or more:
Sumatra Rifle(.20), custom BSA Hornet(.25) and Dragon Slayer(.50)
Looking for a 50 – 100 yard rig for target, hunting and pest control…
Would like 20 consistent shots that are tight and accurate…what caliber do you recommend? I’m leaning towards .25 and know that Airhog can build Condor(.25)s with Lilja Barrels and push 100+ fpe…
Also, how fast can your guns move a given .22 or .25 pellet and still be accurate, i.e. JSBs, Kodiaks and Eun Jins?

How much magnification on your scope?
I bet those 25 yard groups would tighten up to one ragged hole if you dropped the power down to 900fps or so…
If you turn the power wheel down to say 2, does it get erratic on the chrony?

It seems the Kodiaks like 2,000psi with PW 7/0
Fill psi was 2,400
This is the info from the 25yd groups. The psi to the left of the fps is the ending psi for that group. Looks like 5 shots use exactly 100psi. Blank spaces were errors on Chrony
This is the 65yd target…It appears that the shot spread I was experiencing was not from the scope or rifle but from the deviation in pressure from 2,300 down to 1,800psi….The group that shot the best was from 2,000 to 1,900 psi. that group was 1 1/4″. I had seen this rifle shoot like that before but never paid attention to the pressure when it shot a tight grouping. Lower than 1,800 or so it just drops off the target…
So, in closing I think I am going to get a regulated bottle with a 2,000psi regulator and call it good…..Whadda ya thinK?

You (we, etc.) have one of the most powerful mass-produced PCP’s. They are meant to shoot heavy pellets. 15.8gr pellets are for med-high powered (Magnum) Springers or “low-powered” PCP’s. Not sure why you are stuck on shooting 15.8gr pellets. My only guess is you have purchased lots of tins from when you had your SS. You can always sell them. Pyramyd Air is always out of stock on JSB’s and you won’t have any problems getting rid of some or all your JSB Jumbo tins.
If you ask most here what they shoot in their .22 Condors w/18-24″ barrels, I ‘m sure the majority will say 21gr Kodiaks & up (Eun Jins).
At least shoot the 16.5gr JSB Predator Polymag pellets. They are about 15fps slower (a plus for you) than the lighter JSB Jumbos, and dead-accurate, almost as good as Kodiaks in my gun. They are an excellent pellet especially for birds (fur too), crows, etc. like you said you mostly hunt. They expand greatly like a real hollow-point, but also have excellent good penetration capabilities with that Polymer point. That thing is indestructable. I have shot many JSB’s into 2×4 or 2×8″s and have dug out some red Polymer tips that were barely deformed! They destroy everything in their path with a pretty good size wound channel. I used to use JSB Exacts too, but now switch to the Predators sometimes when the pressure goes down in my tank a little. They really do a lot of damage on whatever they come in contact with, flesh or bone. I took a raccoon with it only shooting low 900’s about a week ago (~32fpe w/head shot of course). Very impressive pellet. The Kodiaks don’t expand much at all and just go through, not transferring half the energy into the critter. Whereas the Predators really DO mushroom and expend most of their energy “inside”, and you get a larger exit wound.
I still avoid using Predators though in windy or light wind conditions when shooting farther than 30yds, because they are still a “light” pellet to me. I switch to the heavier Eun Jin’s when I can feel some wind or see the leaves moving or whenever wind is >10mph.

experience after I did the 3 shots…Eun Jins like
high pressure. Kodiaks start to settle down as
soon as they stop going Super Sonic. Once the Kodiaks
get to about 2,000psi I can swap over to JSB’s
and they are below SS too….JSB’s don’t look
good above SS. They are all over the place….
So yes I have settled on 2,200 psi to fill…Much
easier to pump at that pressure too….

Now you are not far off from the rest of us. You got me beat by about 25fps on the Eun Jins.. Oh well, you win 😛
The only advice I have for you is to shoot your Condor like I do. Fill to 2200-2300psi, set PW 0 (or 2), that ‘ll keep the power down to manageable levels and greater accuracy(!). I rarely shoot Kodiaks >1,000fps. I like to start of around 1,000fps and refill after about 40 shots or when it’s down to 850fps. It’s a tack driver at that velocity range. I also get a lot more fills from my Scuba this way and plenty of shots. When I use Eun Jins, I go up a little with the PW and slightly higher pressure fill to get them to high 900’s and start from there. I ‘m basically trying to conserve air in my Scuba and get some decent power without sacrificing too much air 8) It’s a balancing act.. because the closest Scuba for me is 35min drive.
When I get my 2nd tank, hopefully soon, I ‘ll probably dial all the PW on all my Condors with full pressure fills, and have a blast for a couple of days just to get it out of my system 😀 Who knows, maybe I ‘ll match your #’s! hehe

First off I would like to appologize because I am
pretty sure that I got the Kodiaks and the JSB’s
mixed up on a prior post…I am pretty sure that
the JSB’s went 1,235fps…Not the Kodiaks. I would
assume that the Kodiaks are doing 1130 or so
but not sure..To be confirmed later today.
Ok…I got the rifle up to 2,900 psi….PW is set on
2 by mistake…I was going to set it on full power
but friggin forgot….I’ll do another test this afternoon
and find out exactly how fast each one is going……..
The first shot is Eun Jin, the 2nd and 3rd are Kodiaks
that didn’t register on the Chrony…AAARRRRGGGGHHHH
….The 4th shot is a JSB Jumbo. There is a no doubt a
distinction between the sounds of the shots with the different pellets…Both the Kodiak and JSB are going SS…Enjoy……

Shroud has been on at all times….The crack is loud enough (not muffled) to scare my neighbors that are a few hundred yards away. I can tell the difference when it gets below 1100…That is why I think the Chrony is accurate. I can shoot a Kodiak at 1080 with no crack and shoot a JSB on the next shot @1125-1130 and it cracks loud….If the chrony is off it can’t be very far off…
She’s at 2,850psi so far….Gotta take a breather….Do you guys know Vincent Van Gerven? That is the guy I got it from and he said he likes to tinker…He did elaborate on how much, but that is where the gun came from and he said it was Tony tuned..I know the hammer is not stock, and teh trigger is perfect but, other than that, I wouldn’t know a tuned gun if it fell on me..That’s all the history I know….

Now I am assuming you are using the shroud, and hearing the supersonic crack with the shroud, right?
Ok, the fastest I ‘ve been able to shoot Kodiaks out of my .22 Condor (24″) is 1,101fps. I just looked at my notes.. I have an Airhog shroud. I remember hearing the “crack” as well at that velocity, and it took me by surprise at first, but it was a relatively smaller crack as compared to my .22LR rimmies, like it was still somewhat muffled.. but it was definitely a “crack”, and kind of scared me at first. I don’t get that with the normal starting velocity of 1,060-1,070fps from a lower pressure fill.
But if yours is really LOUD even with the shroud, and definitely sounds like a .22LR, then the 1,235fps velocity could be a true reading.. but I ‘m still leaning towards a not so well calibrated Chrony still 😉 I get the supersonic crack with most pellets starting at around 1,090-1,100fps.
If Eun Jin’s go supersonic with a crack, then you have a hek of a gun there! Let us know!
Come to think of it the shroud must do something to tame it even though your super sonic
Always thought once you pass that speed it was just plain loud, no room for improvement
With the shroud all you hear is the crack….Without it you hear a booooommmmmcccrracckkkkkkkkkk…….piiiicakkkkkkkk Oh yea and then the thwack of the pellet flattening itself to a thin sheet of lead

I am shooting off of a firm pad….
I have the scope magnified X16
Just boxed that scope up for return….Gonna keep the BSA..
I have tried the PW 2 setting and yea it was erratic..
Anything before or after the 2,000-1,900 range just
seems to start spreading again…I have let it go down to
900 and it starts
to get really spread out…
Soon I will have a Condor hammer and I get to start
testing all over again…..
