On the other hand, good or bad for what? If you’re only ever gonna slaughter paper and beer cans the .177 is awesome. If you’re blasting vermin in a metal barn, a .177 Talon is ideal. Elephant hunting? Not so much.

Welcome Steve!

I would go with .22 or .25 first. The valve is more powerful. If later you want to convert to .177,i it is easy to cut the power back, but difficult to increase the power of the .177 valve.
