Q:

talon ss misfire issue

Looking for get an answer to a misfire problem.

I have a Talon which will fire with greatly reduced velocity when it has been left cocked for an extended period of time such as when hunting. The last time it occurred the pellet did not exit the barrel. This only happens the first shot. Any subsequent shots are normal.

Talon is stock. No changes, no mods.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You might need to clean the frame and hammer from dust and gunk that can cause the hammer to chatter and slow it down.

+1 if there is any play between a cocked hammer and run top hat pu will see a light strike and very little power. Adjus the topha out to meet a cocked breech and no play.

Ted,

When your rifle is cocked and the breech knob turned to the side, is it locked into positon againsrt the top hat or can you move it back and forth.

If so perhaps while hunting you inadvertantly move it away from the top hat which will result in a weak shot.

If this is not it, I hope you get it resolved.

And welcoe to the forum.
