Q:

Talon SS vs Condor SS accuracy out to 50yrds?

I’ve been lurking on and off here for a couple years now. Thanks for all the great info. Have a few adult springers for the last 10-15yrs. I started shopping for my first PCP last year it ended up being between the Disco and a Talon SS. I got Mac1 tuned Disco mainly because I already had means to fill it, a big nitrogen tank(2200psi) and a carbon SCBA tank rated for 2000psi( which is hydroed to 2700 and filled to 2400ish) . They’ve worked great. And I’ve learned about PCPs. Sense then I scored a 4500spi SCBA and a smaller high pressure one also. I want a small light weight accurate gun for hunting , plinking and some paper in the yard. A step up from the Disco. So I’m beginning my research. I really like the Talon SS, it’s drawing me in again but now there’s also the Condor SS to consider. My question is would a Condor SS be noticeably more accurate than the Talon SS at say 50ish yards? I know their more powerful but are they also more accurate? It’s prolly going to be another .22 cal.
Thanks

I would really rather the size and weight of the TalonSS. Hunting would only be for birds, squirrels and rabbits nothing larger. Would the TalonSS benefit from a TT tophat, or are they just for the high flow tanks of the condors? Or most people just use the o-ring on the TSS?

At what distance would the Condo SS show the benefits of more power and a longer barrel over the talon SS?

Thanks

An No distance. Either bbl can push a pellet to the point that it is too fast to be stable.

However, now that AF is making the .25’s the valve makes a HUGE difference. The Condor has a high flow. The Talonss a lesser flow valve.

The Escape is nothing more than a talon frame, 18″ barrel and pistol tank. A real retarded morphadite of the AF mindset. WTF!!!

I would really like to see one in person and hold one. I’m in Louisiana, none in any shops that I can find. But I do some travel for work so I’ll keep an eye out.

I’m remembering that they are manufactured in Ft. Worth, Tx. Give them a call. You may get a chance to see them all up real close.

There is a good chance you would notice the difference at 50 yards.

If I am not mistaken, the TT C stem will fit any high flow valve. It might fit the standard valve, but I am not certain. The TT TP staem will fit the TP and Escape.

So it uses different size fixed restrictors to control air flow. I found it on the TT site.

Thanks

Thanks, that’s basically what I was thinking. They would be pretty close except the condo SS is a little longer and a tad heaver. What effect would that top hat have?

A lot of tuning an AirForce gun is adjusting the valve opening stroke by varying the gap by turning the threaded tophat. The TT version, for Condor or TalonP, is one piece and not adjustable, but has threaded inserts for tuning. I wouldn’t use the AF stem and hat assembly, though I don’t know if the TT is available for Talon.

At fifty yards, I can’t imagine you’d see any accuracy difference at all. The main difference is the Condo has the power to reach further. With a Talon Tunes tophat, the Condor comes damned near to filling the role of both guns.
