Talon SS Vs Gamo Whisper
So a friend of mine in interested in the Gamo Whisper, I wanted to demonstrate the sound difference for him. I forgot to mention in the video, the first two shots “down range” are from the Talon SS, the second two shot are from the Gamo,,, obviously.

I will admit, that my old Mr. 5.0 Dare mustang was no canyon carver, but it kicked some serrious butt on a 355 Ferrari at Little River Academy Drag way back in 2004! 😀 😀
And yes, the Stang was street legal and the “Wife and I droveit to the track 30 miles away. We put about 10-12 lengths on the prancing horse.
But I got to tell ya. I love a ferrari!

This is exactly the type of info people are looking for that want to know what a shroud can an cannot do for our guns.
Mine is just a poor boy’s home make version. (the Shroud) And is down right mouse fart quiet!!! A heck of a lot quieter than a slamo Whisper!
Take the Shroud off, and it is a HELL of a lot LOUDER!!! So yes. You can make comparisons for people to hear the difference. 😉

there’s is NO comparison, I owned a Gamo Whisper with the Gas Ram upgrade 1 week before the TalonSS.
Sound excluding, the TSS is WAAAAY more accurate and consistent. As for sound, i would say the TSS slightly quieter. It makes a hiss/ting sound while the Gamo sounds like a big WHACK.
The GAMO doesn’t make much noise at the barrel, it’s mostly from the spring/piston.

Im pretty sure my camera doesnt have automatic sound balancing, its a cheap 200 jobbie. But I try and shoot videos seperately and edit them separtley then combine videos, but you can tell the difference between the two, imo opinion. But next time I am comparing unshrouded vs shrouded in both .22 and .177

He can compare anything he wants, but is it a quality or fair comparison? 😉
If your camera has automatic sound balancing, comparing two different sounds is a moot discussion since the camera automatically adjusts the levels to bring them all into the same range… This has been a problem in the past with comparison videos… 😉 😉 ❗ ❗

just saying that comparing them obviously is a fair comparison
that is why I did the comparison. So people can hear the difference between the two, not saying omg I got a 250.00 rifle and it beats the hell out Talon SS. It is to show people what to expect from both rifles.

I agree with what you are saying…to a point. There always be differences though. Shroud quality, tune quality, tune vs. no tune, quality of materials on a gun, etc. Even two of the same gun will shoot differently.
I think the important thing is to educate people by doing these
comparisons and get the information out there. Seeing this and other
videos would have helped me alot in my decision on what to buy.

I agree most pcp will shoot easier and more accurately than a springer. I am not very good at shooting springers. once I get passed the 20 yard mark I always have a problem being consistent with a springer. First day with pcp I was shooting quarter sized groups at 35 yards. I was never ever able to get that tight of a group with 3 different springers. I had a gamo (not for long) a rws and tried a friends gamo.
