Talon SS Vs Gamo Whisper
So a friend of mine in interested in the Gamo Whisper, I wanted to demonstrate the sound difference for him. I forgot to mention in the video, the first two shots “down range” are from the Talon SS, the second two shot are from the Gamo,,, obviously.

I’d have to disagree that you cannot compare the two. There is a video on you tube of a Beeman r7 compared to a Marauder for loudness and they
are basically the same. Of course the r7 is a light springer, but any springer with a good tune and good shroud can be pretty quiet.
As far as the Whisper goes I was one of the suckers that fell for it’s quiet claims. It was my first Adult airgun and I was real disappointed by the loudness (report and twang of spring) and the overall quality or lack thereof.

Why cant you compare the two? Both rifles claim to be quiet, both rifles are shrouded. The comparison was the “Sound difference” between the two. There is not more you can do to the Gamo Whisper to make it any more silent. The Talon on the other hand, currently is only shrouded, there are many more upgrades that will lead to a quiter rifle. Those videos will come at a later time, when I get the parts.
You cannot compare the price, for 250.00 the Gamo is a decent “yard” friendly rifel thats accuracy will suffer over time, due to the fact that it is a break barrel.
Here is the deinition of comparison “The act of comparing; an examination of two or more objects with the view of discovering the resemblances or differences; relative estimate”.
So by definition you can compare the two.
I appreitiate your opinions, but post something more substantial thanyou cannot compare a PCP vs a Springer. At least give us a reason…

I dont think it is possible to “reshroud” the whisper, you would have to cut the old one off and mess with the integrity of the barrel. But if that could happen, you would still have to find a way to silence the spring, it makes a lot of noise too.
It would make an interesting project, but cut down on the chance of being able to resell the rifle.
ik it has a shroud but its the stock shroud which usually isnt good
so your comparing a stock shroud to a modified one
ik what you mean, i wouldnt dare shoot the condor at my house without the shroud
the whisper comes with a shroud… I am going to do a unshrouded comparrison, but its not sometihng I can do at my apt, as the Talon is not very neighborhood friendly. So that will have to wait until I can find somewhere to shoot.

You cannot compare a piston airgun with a pcp, sorry but that is not a good comparison
i think you should have compared them stock. yeah the ss is gonna be quieter because you paid more money for the shroud. You could find somone to make a shroud for the whisper and i bet it would be waaaay harder to make a choice

comparing a stock gun to a modified gun isnt a fair contest. you can compare the sound and get results, no doubt about it. but the things that your comparing should at least be similar
