Q:

Talon SS with 18" and moderator

Just wanted to show you guy’s my solution to get my Talon SS with an 18″ barrel super quit.
Someone was nice enough to thread my barrel with some UNF and in my garage I found the
perfect little piece of rubber to make it look nice !
The rubber piece is a bearing dust cover from a mountain bike hub, manufactured by Shimano, so easy to come by.
The part fits like a glove as is, no tinkering.

The complete setup :

Were shroud meets Weihrauch moderator :

The cheap rubber solution, but what do you think, does it look nice enough ?

And no sound at all with the Wheirauch silencer.

See you!

Nice power too 😉 Mine Isn’t that quiet doing 12FPE. Must be the 18″ I guess. Thanks for the info Hvbuel

What power are you running? That seems very quiet indded 😉 Seems like a good length too but not for me. Un screwing the silencer to transport the rifle I could see myself damaging the crown If It’s not protected by the rifle frame.

.177 Barracuda’s and JSB heavy’s do 18 Fpe and .177 Rabbit Magnums do 26 Fpe.
I guess most .177 pellets are to light, the 18″ performs way better with heavier pellets.
The Talon in my setup fits in my case without any disassembling, so with moderator and an added 2″ for the quickfill/manometer.

VERY nice!!

Great find with the Shimano bushing!

very cool and inventive.

With the moderator off, the barrel only protrudes the frame about 1.5 centimeters.
The thread runs along this length exactly, so it stops just where the shroud starts.
This was not intentional, but turned out to work just fine.
The Weirauch moderator does an excelent job, hammerslap and a sigh of air is all that you will hear from this setup.

By the way, the hub seal costs only $3.25 🙂

Looks sweet to me 8) Any pics of with the mod removed?? I have the same (weirach mod) on mine and was thinking of upgrading to a longer barrel but not sure of size. I wanted something just inside the frame really so It keep the soze down when you remove the bottle and mod.. Anyway I digress. I think your’s looks very nice 😉
