Talon Stubby "Extreme" Valve Pics
The Talon Stubby “Extreme” valve is a modified Condor valve.
Here are the two valves. The upper one is the Extreme, the lower is the high flow Condor: (the Extreme spring seemed heavier, stronger)

You don’t need to remove the valve from the Talon bottle. Simply unscrew the existing valve with the provided tool:
Remove the OEM valve core and spring and drop in the new spring, then screw in and tighten the new core. You are done.
The modification is inside the valve and I didn’t want to take it apart, but I assume the stem has been made larger because it delivers a serious blast of air over the Condor.

And, yes the spring retainer is identical on both, as are the spring diameters, but the Extreme is heavier.

The spring retainer has a hole in it. On a Talon valve we open it up and polish it to a mirror finish when we mod the valve.
So heavier spring on the valve? My Blod valve spring is a lot lighter than the condor spring. It shoots about 50 fps more also.
Which hole? If its the bottom one sealed by the black piece, it’s identical to the Condor Hi Flo. So the changes have to be further up in the stem.
And, yes the spring retainer is identical on both, as are the spring diameters, but the Extreme is heavier.

I don’t know what purpose that milled groove serves.
So I guess the spring retainer is the same for the Talon valve and the Extreme Valve?
The hole is kinda small for airflow dont ya think?
You Guys think it possible the vertical cuts in the threads are contributing something or just aesthetic?

I think you may have confused the two in a couple of the photos, i’m assuming the Extreme has the polished stem, which is the top one in the first image, either way i’m glad to see what exactly is going on here and what is sold for the price asked.
I was expecting a complete valve not a drop in part that goes into the existing collar. A photo is definitely worth a thousand words.
I like this idea though, getting the valve out of the tank is not possible without a decent vise and a collar wrench, I have the wrench but not the vise…
It’s still a HiFlo valve though… Just part of it has been polished and ported…

I was just making sure it wasn’t something special. Still waiting for my new lathe to show show up mid July and I will make a one piece stem/tophat. My little lathe dosen’t like cutting stainless. Only so much you can get out of the condor valve.
I don’t think you can compare it to Tony’s valve, because Tony’s valve is a complete valve with a complete overhaul. So we shouldn’t compare a full top to bottom valve job by Tony, to a drop in kit, that essentially has a heavier spring and internal stem modifications.
Credit given where credit is due. You are buying brute force from someone who knows how to mod the stem and spring. If you want a high quality, top to bottom, Condor Power Valve, then Tony is the way to go.
As I said, this is a poor man’s path to brutal power.

So it is basically the same as Tony’s valve then. I have 3 of them and they are all polished.

Sorry, I didn’t mention that I saw that cut on both the Extreme and Condor valves. I didn’t turn both of them the same way when I took the picture. Remember I’m left handed and ultra-right brained.

It has to be! There isn’t any other change on the outside, other than the additional hammer weight and heavier spring, that would affect performance.
It’s definitely pushing more air up that stem, and porting and polishing is the most likely answer.

The Condor valve used in the Extreme is a new type Condor valve. Absolutely no question about that.
The change is in the heavier spring, additional hammer weight, and larger porting within the stem.
If you look at the picture of the two valves in my hand, the upper one is the Extreme, the lower is the Hi Flo Condor, you can notice the taper on the black seal where it fits against the brass section, and I noted the stem was very narrow on both, which eliminates the old Condor valve. Further, the cut-outs the removal wrench uses, on both valves, were the new “U” shaped type that cuts through the edge of the brass part, also visible in my picture of both valves.
I hope this helps. I am unlikely to try to force that black seal off the Extreme valve. With my luck it will put my other eye out.

I think he means the hole that runs thru the brass valve spring retainer. here is a pic of what gives the air archer its power (valve wise).
You can see the valve spring is lighter and longer and the retainer is bored out to stabilize the longer spring and also gives more air-flow
