Q:

TD400 Archery conversion

The Condors are some awesome guns and I belive the Archery conversion option will give us one more way to enjoy this weapon and be able to humanely kill any big game animal you could think of.
I have tried to make a Archery conversion kit for the condor that is powerful, accurate, easy to install and affordable. I’ll post some pics, features and shot strings.

Basic kit

full conversion kit with arrow loaded on barrel (notice reccess in barrel allowing further insertion of arrow)

view of barrel recess

distance between rear of archery barrel and fully extended top hat.

Internal parts in full conversion kit.

#3 hole in breech for 400+fps arrow speeds.

g.t.blue jay helped me with some of the testing on the kits. He didnt install the moded valve spring and retainer so I was’nt exspecting him to break 400fps but he did! This a 15 shot string he recorded for me.
begin fill 3000psi:

This 20 shot one is my best one to date with the whole conversion kit installed.

The arrow track barrel is a very accurate and versatile design. Swivel machine works had a patents on it for 20 years but both patents expired last year. The arrow track allows you to shoot fletching and any kind of broadhead you like.
A 280grain arrow moveing 400+ has a lot of punch even without a broadhead 😀

You can take any animal in North America with it, And unlike a crossbow, it can be loaded very quickly. I have been timed loading three arrows and firing them accurately in 20 seconds.

At 60 yards it will still shoot around 3 inch groups. The trouble is finding an area where it is legal to hunt with it.

I suspect that one would have to induldge in civil disobedience and push the general rifle or muzzle loading section of the law. If your caught doing it, you may get a ticket, then you fight it in court and make case law if you win.

It just takes balls. The right to carry a concealed pistol in this state during archery season was won that way, thru the court system.

All in all it is perhaps the most deadly air weapon there is, if not it is right up there with any others. Mine is my things that go bump in the night gun, it sits in a corner with a broadhead loaded, four more in the attached quiver, it has a laser sight and a light attached.

Nice weapon….is that weapon good in hunting?

quote leemak:

I want to see target shots with broadheads on the arrows ,the broad heads change the the arrow flight considerably. I use expandable broadheads on The airbolt conversion made a few years back ,they will fly like the field points .Ive killed many deer with mine ,I get 25 good shots with a 2500psi fill @ 375 fps .the total bolt (arrow)weight with ex pbroadheads is 325 grains in weight ,, what do your arrows weigh ?

I don’t have a grain scale, but G.T. blue jay weighed the arrows from his kit and I think he said 275grains. My memory could be off on that.
What I do know for sure is my 85grain fixed blade broadheads fly great. I have’nt grouped with broadheads (that would be hard on the other arrows with fixed blade heads) but I did hit the same spot repeatedly at 20,30 and 40yrds(a little hold over at 40) with the same arrow before I went on a pig hunt in Jan. of this year.
Ive only shot 85grain heads but I suspect the blazer fletching could spin and steer up to a 100grain head with no problem.

nice kill! how many yards?

I WAS LOOKING AT AN X BOW AR CONVERSION FOR $3000 that compares with this. I actually texted the guys who had the patent airarrow i think,4 times. They were not very forthcoming with information or help. They used a 10/22 and blanks. i would be very interested in this set up. how much for complete conversion? gtbj would you set up full power model? i would ship my stock condor and you would be welcome to shoot somestrings and take some pictures. pm me gtbj knows a little about me. how loud is it? my condor is .22 stock basically.

group @ 35 yards I had to move alittle each shot as not to stick the other arrows the bolts are only 15 inches long and weigh 325 grains with a 100 grain exp broadhead attached !!s

I tried to post more than one picture and it wont work ,also it keeps using the same pic when I try to post a different pic !!!heeeeeeeeeeeeeelpp..

i just ordered a condor and it hasnt even come yet and I wasnt guna mod it but daaaaaaaaaaaaaammmm i want of these bad. almost as the airrow.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET ❗

Let me tell you guys that this is one bad assed, fun as can be, and almost too accurate conversion for the condors!

all of the stings I have shot with it look very similar to the one Tagdag posted, this setup is so accurate that at 25 yards you Can Not aim for the same spot! I did it once and stacked the arrows, not bad enough to brake them but close enough were I won’t do it again.

I haven’t had chance to stretch it’s legs yet but from what I’ve seen at 25 yards and shooting right around and slightly above 100fpe it will have no problems at all at 50 yards on a hay bale or game, that 100fpe is with out the tank spring and bigger retainer as well.

The tips can be interchanged to the hunting tip of your liking, the tips do extend past the arrow shroud enough to do this.

here is a pic with an arrow ready to go

I guess the broadhead would have to be screwed on after the arrow was put in the barrel?
