Q:

Tedd is nomiated to the next AOA EBR comp.

Hi Guys,

I am a man with not many words. Usually I like to read your posts and learn from you guys. Recently I read a post by Oldgoat that he is doing he is experimenting on his brand new .30 Matador. This is not something new. He may have already tried to replaced his .25 barrel with a .257 Hart barrel to shoot cast bullets. I think with the .30 Matador, it is very promising.

Knowing Tedd from this forum, he is one CRAZY DUDE. There isnt a thing about the Matador that he does not know. He would go out of his way to help a brother out. How many times have you seem him send out O rings, tools he made, and advice for a brother that needs it?. The best part is he never ask for anything in return. Tedd does not know I am doing this. I wanted to give back to the guy that gave so much to the sport of air gunning.

Hey Tedd, I do not know if AOA EBR allows cast bullets in their competition, but if they do, then its what you wanted. If they do not allow Cast bullets, then you can still tune your .30 Matador to shoot JSB.

Here is the best part, I like to nominate TEDD to the next AOA Exteme Bench Rest Competition. I want to start a “Tedd Foundation Fund” of 400.00 dollars to help his expense.
If anyone would like to contribute to this fund, you can PM me. It does not have to be much, $5, $10, $20 or which ever you are comfortable is appreciated.

Tedd will not get this fund until he attend the competition and win the first prize. Just kidding about the first prize : so let the FUND begin, lets sign up.

Hi Doug,

Somehow this thread got back on top. If you are planing to go to the EBR this year, I like to suggest to pick up Tedd and Ted in Madison , if you are driving. Gas money will be on Me.

Yes, I was trying to rally and put together a “Tedd EBR Fund”. I will have a list of the members that made contribution and the total amount raised for the trip. On behalf of OldGoat and the Bullpup group, I like to say thanks To those that made donations. It is still not too late if you like to participate in this effort. Just response on this thread and I will contact you.

Thanks

John.

I am about 75% on making the trip out to AOA this year too. I think it would be a great and fun Air Gun Vacation.

Tedd…if God had meant man to fly, we would be able to drink jet fuel!

Just hop into your ’72 Gremlin and take Route 66 the whole way. There’s roadside “cabins” you can rent for $3.50 a night. I paid an extra .75 cents and got one with hot water. I went to Oklahoma back in ’64 and found this the best route to use!

Also, off topic…what about just putting a .25 barrel on a .30 caliber Edgun? Easier than moving valves and such. That might produce some serious velocities for a long heavy .25 cast slug!

Regards,

H 😯 😯 t

Thank you kindly sir!

SECoda: the 30 cal uses 5 different O rings from the 25 cal. 5 mm X 1.5 mm 90 Duro for the cocking handle probe, the rest can be 70 Duro Buna N: a 18.50 mm X 3 mm for the front of the regulator, the baffle takes a 23 mm X 2 mm and a 16.50 mm X 2.50 mm, two of each and the O ring on the rear of the rear moderator tube is 15 mm X 2 mm.

I think that the above 5 are the only ones that have been changed on the 30 cal.

JohnP; I am not afraid of heights, like I explained to you, I have never been in an airliner and if I didn’t like the experience, especially if we hit rough weather, there was no way in hell I was going to just say I have had enough and get off of the plane! I would just be along for the ride, like it or not!

I have flown an ultra light and I had one flight in a Cessna. It was piloted by a rich farmer’s kid, flown out of his dad’s private landing strip. We used to fly our RC planes on the air strip. The guy flew us around a while, let me fly some and then asked if I thought that I could land the plane. The Cessna had dual controls and he told me that he could take control if I was really fucking up.

I told him that I didn’t think that landing the Cessna would be any different than landing a model airplane. It turned out that is wasn’t! I made a good landing and the guy thought that I had flown and landed before!

It is only 1577 miles from my house to AOA; it looks like an easy 2 day road trip to me!

I might have to take a slight detour in Oklahoma. The last time that I was thru there, I drove right by Cadillac Ranch and I didn’t have anymore film for my camera. I have always wanted pictures of that place!

Knowing my luck: it it is probably gone now!

No, John,,,, you know? i am really surprised how i was not aware of this thread ❗ ❗ ❓ ❓ ❓ ❓ ,,, my brother Tedd deserves more than my help…

thanks you for your great idea and do appreciate it …. this forum get more nice guy day after the day …. all wants to help each other …. which is very good …. do you think these kind of help is available in other forums or not?

Hi Hemn,

Don’t be so hard on yourself. I am sure Tedd will appreciate your kind thoughts. With everybody pitching in, we can afford to send him on an airplane round trip with hotel accommodation. I had a long talk with him yesterday, he was humbled and promised to practice more and will do his best at the competition. I will let only you on this secret, just you ok? Tedd is 61 years old and have never fly on an airplane. I think he is afraid of height!!! He planned to rent a car and drive there in two days before the competition. I asked him ” how are you going to compete when you are tired from the driving?” Me made up excuse that he wanted to see different parts of America. I wanted to convince him to take the airplane because it will be faster, cheaper and less stress on his old, beat up body.

Tedd,

How about it? Take my advice on the airplane. If you buy tickets early, you can get them really cheap. Time saved=nuddy bar, pizza and beer!!

Do you have an extra degass tool for Matador that I can buy from you?

You can make your own for $8.00 and a hand drill. Here is the link…

OG do you have the list of oring differences for the 30 from the 25? I think you mentioned four of them besides the bolt probe. Thanks

i am apologizing for you my brother Tedd,,, i am really busy with Book Closing (End of Year Closing), i am the second person in my department and have a bug responsibility …. i am supervising 6 employees in my Dept. and almost 600 staff in the whole company …. forgive me ….

PM Sent. Without Tedd’s help, I would still be sifting through the o-rings at my hardware store. He also made me a very nifty picatinny flashlight holder.

And, re: EBR, if the competition returns to Pheonix next year (as predicted), cast bullets will be allowed (as the backstop will be a mountain, not a retirement community.) πŸ™‚
