For years the Left wing has tried to get gun registration here in the US. It has failed. Why, it is UN Constitutional. In other words, it is illegal as the Federal Laws Stand. It would take a reverse ruling from the US Supreme Court to change it. So Mich. Mad Men, get off your dead asses and do something about this. Your own elected officials are breaking the Federal Law just to deprive you of your legal rights under the US Constitution.
If it continues to stand, it’s no body’s fault buy your own! 😉

In fact that is not a silencer. Let me take your time to explain the
whole situation. As my guns are airguns it is automatically means that
they are low powered in comparison to firearms. So, the very light
pellets (in comparison to the same firearms) are very sensitive to any
extraneous forces like air following the pellet when it leaves the
barrel. So, that air influences to pellet and thus to the accuracy of
the shooting. Since the accuracy of the shooting is one of the main
requirements of the users I have to try to remove that influence in as
great extend as possible. So, I had to make that tube with cone
baffles which are designed to cut the air following the pellet in order
to decrease its influence to the pellet. And it works as it was
invented — the accuracy of the shooting is increasing. Yes, I have to
confess as the side effect of that devise is decreasing of the sound
of the shot, but I have to insure you that is just a side effect not
the main feature of that removable muzzle attachment. Of course I
could make it fixed to the muzzle but I had to made it removable in
order to give the user chance to clean the barrel.

I live in central Illinois. Illinois law says that anything over .177 is a firearm. You are susposed to have a FOID card to buy a .22 air rifle or pellets.
Most all of the stores, Wall Mart included, sell .22 air rifles and pellets and don’t ask for a FOID card.
I have shown a couple of county sherrif deputies my Edgun. They both said that it looks like a SWAT weapon. They want to know all about it. They were both supprised at how quiet it was.
I told them that at least 50% of the air rifles sold have moderators on them and that Illinois says that a .22 is a firearm and that the Edgun moderator is a silencer. I then went on to tell them about federal law saying that states can’t say that a .22 air rifle is a fire arm and that if the moderator can’t be put on a fire arm with out modifying it, it is a moderator and not a silencer.
They both told me that the reason Illinois law is so “fucked up” is because of Chicago. Both of them told me that they are for concealed carry and that we probally will never get it because of Chicago.
Just to be on the safe side, I would register my Edgun. Illinois will not allow me to own a silencer.

I have brought it up to my local gun clubs (plural) and local gunshops (plural) and even called the NRA about it (nothing) I called my congressman who is in monroe michigan and (nothing).
I’m doing my part to get it acknowledged but fixing these laws for one person is as tough as fixing the country’s problems is for lets say every citizen that dislikes the way things are run in this country.
I guess this is the same situation:
1.6 million illegal immigrants live in texas and the majority enter through california and texas so if it it continues it’s nobody’s fault but your own! 😉

Is that fair to say? no it’s not because some things are out of our hands unless everyone can get on the same page.
We do share a dislike for the gun clubs that don’t care about air rifle owners and from everything I can tell they don’t seem to like air rifles.
Show me one place in America that hasn’t been tripped up by elected officials? it’s an epidemic due to zero accountability.

May be some one needs to send Miss Debra a copy of the us Constitution, along with the amendments to the Bill of Rights. Especially where it states that Congress shall not- States shall not- Local Government shall not deem a air powered arm a Fire Arm. It Against Federal Law to do so.

You cannot own a pellet gun larger than .17 caliber. You have to have an Illinois gun owners registration card to purchase ammo or a firearm, independent of federal law.
I think you now must have either a waiting perod or a thumbprint to buy ammo, but I am not sure about that one.
Having grown up down there, I owned a handgun when I was twelve. Rifle and shotgun, no problem. Ammo….stop buy and pick up a box or a case, made no difference how old you were.
Just goes to show you that local elections are important to watch, as well as the bastards in Washington.

That is so sad. Gun registration… Are we in the USA or some new form of the USSR? (I know the USSR was officially dissolved on December 31, 1991 but appears to have moved to MI.)

That’s sick and I knew the handgun ban was in effect there because when I went to check on my diesel truck out in Iowa I had to put my pistol away in IL.

Rob I called the state police and they said if it’s over .177 caliber and the barrel is 18″ and under with a rifled barrel it MUST be registered as a firearm.
I asked them about the shroud and they said if they caught someone with it they would go to jail end of story no questions asked and the lawyers would have to sort it out. (who can afford that)
On Edit: the register issue is a michigan law for the record and should not affect any other states that I’m aware of.
I do not understand this register thing? I do not get it? You go to the store, show them your permit to purchase or carry, they do phone check (for the Feds), you buy your firearm (s), and go home and shoot.
Seriously, do you really have to call someone and tell them you have a gun? Do they really have a “list.” I have heard of that nonsence sort of stuff talked about like in NY, DC. of CA. but they get F-ed…

Yep anything over .177 with a rifled barrel is considered a firearm too and I am going to register my condor just to be on the safe side.
