Tested Benjamin Rogue
Is there any place to by a Benjamin Rogue that is pre tested and ready to go? I would not mind paying a little xtra to be sure it is in good working order before it gets to me. No leaks and works normal. ❓

If not where do I get the ammo for it? I use hunters supply, and it isn’tplaine on the XP site what diamater the bullet is, Also can’t I order a Sizing Die for the 58 like I did the 308 to use 311 lead ammo? I am a reloader but not a caster it all new to me, never made one bullet in a Mold.

My point is that you can get that same basic/classic 45-70 design that is .452 in diameter by design (only needing to size down 1/1000 or two to get there) if you know where to look, while retaining the ability to shoot the lighter (often more efficient) .45ACP/.45Colt .452 stuff (154-350-or-so grains). HUGE variety of boolit weights there geared for a variety of shooting/hunting needs.
Shaggy, if your referring to the 58 as .458″ and then sizing .458 DOWN to .452 (which IS what the Rangers bore diameter is), i’ve often read that you you don’t wanna size a bullet down that much. That’s .006″ inch difference, more if the 458’s come out to 459. .002-.003 is the MAX that i do. You can always spot a bullet that’s been sized down TOO SMALL cause the lead smears off and over the base of the bullet.

Hell, the guys who make custom stuff NEED to go and forget everything. It makes them better at what they do. If they never took a break the product quality would suffer as they burned out from working too much. Vacations are essential for one’s sanity (well that is IF you can afford to take time off). 😆
😀 Yeh I have to take off just to get away from the house, 😀 Mr. XP does make a good gun. I liked those pictures of him on that Jet Ski and Ifen I wasn’t so dad burned Old I’d try it myself heck Ive tried everything else. I’m not jumping on him ,, Heck he’s having too much fun than to make a gun 😀 Vacation is good, in any setting, He’ll be back someday and we’ll see what happens.. Take care and thank for the information on him, I really think he’s got the competition tied up in his corner from the reports Ive done seen. I got a full 1000 round box of 458(4570) Lead I bought for reloading I’m wanting to try in his 458 and see what it can do. I’m a gun Freake,. 😀

I’d Like to have one of his guns, and I emailed him and he quoted me a price, and I emailed back and asked how to pay for it and he hasn’t answered yet,, He’s been out of town Jet Skiing and water bathing and vacationing, I don’t think he wants to sell a dad burned Gun. 🙄 So today I went the limit and bought a 500 Smith and Wesson Magnum, and golly Ned that thing is a crazy Powerfull Pistol. A 325 grain Bullet with all kinds of whooping power. Did I say a Box of Shells is $50?

Vacations are these things you take when you want to forget about your job. It’s a lot easier to forget about your job if you don’t take it with you on your vacation.

Sorry I’m late getting back,,, but the gun I bought was a 500 S&W Magnum it has more power than my 4570 Marlin Rifle. The Pistol puts out 2600 foot punds of energy and Lord Have Mercy it is powerfull. I have 2 Ruger 44 Magnums and they are a Joke by comparison. And the 500 magnum is not that bad on recoil it has a ported barrel to keep the jump down, and isn’t all that heavy concidering the size of it. It has the 8″ Barrel, and the Hand fit grips, a nice Pistol I must say. 😀

Get a 460 SW it is more accurate more versatile and will kill any animal on the planet! getting one for my TC encore pistol can shoot 454 casull, 45 long colt and also 460 all outta same bbl

You will need to keep an extra tank with you on those big bores if you want more than 3 shots. Is there a caliber requirement? A .25 shooting slugs at 90fpe or so would do all three at 50 yards quietly.

Have you thought about wacking those predators (including deer) with a compound bow? I can hit a paper plate at 100 yards with mine. I’d love to come out and wack some of your deer to help out, but I bet you’d rather take care of the “problem” yourself – too much fun.

Here’s what I’ve been told about the XP .308 and .357 testing. They are based on the same lower as the Ranger.45, making a caliber change an option.
They’ve tested a 36″ barrel .308 and using a 125 grain bullet made 318 fpe. Shooting a 68 grain, made 240 fpe. It goes supersonic pretty easy.
The .357 was shooting a 34″ barrel, but they want to get their own barrel spec’d out, they were using a 1:16 twist and feel it’s too much twist. Anyway, shooting a 135 grain it made 340 fpe and shooting a 201 grain it made 420 fpe.
Threading the muzzle end is an option on all of their barrels.
The reason they haven’t brought them out, they want to catch up on the .45, .58 and .72 orders first. Although, I know they have a list already from guys that just want one and will wait a while.
my 36inch barrel xp ranger 45 is doing great ! 308 barrel sounds fun i might just have to call D and jump on his list… i wonder how his shoebox compressor is doing ..i have well over 400 hours on mine now ..after that many hours of testing tweeking i think i have it working like a champ ..
the new belt -pulley system is going on my machine for testing …tool steel flat round nosed bullet shaped pistons polished with 1500 grit paper ..then compoud .. have made a world of difference making the machine more reliable .
