Q:

Tests for TK’s new Minni Compressor? How to "break&quot

In case you have not been following a paintballer has introduced a new mini compressor for 390$. You can get all the details here:

http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pages/Miniature-Compressor-for-Paintball/216287806129?v=info&ref=ts

Look under info and what not. There are also several threads on it on:

automags.org

Anyway I have one on the way (as I think one or two other forum members do) in the next week or two and I wondered what you all would like to see done to the thing? What tests beyond the obvious “how long to fill my tank?” can you blow it up etc. would you like me to try? I am thinking it will be worth attempting some upgrading, filling scubas etc.

Anyway if anyone is in the Tacoma WA area and would like to get together some weekend I am dieing to get out and shoot and testing the compressor would be a good excuse.

Thoughts?

it took about 18 hrs off and on for a couple days, hopefully I will just have to top it off from now on.

filling that 80 cf SCUBA is quite a stretch for the little compressor.
How long did that take?

love my shoebox so far. pumped up a 80cf scuba and 4 68/4500 paintball tanks and it’s still going strong. also topped off my maurader from 2000-2800 in about 8 minutes. i’m going to fill my air force tank today i’ll let everyone know how long it takes.

REcieved the Shoebox Compressor on Monday. Had her setup and pumping before supper. Ran it about an hour checking things out and put 1500psi into an empty 72cuinch 4500 CF tank. Will be checking on moisture and residue.

What a nicely made good looking little compressor.

Yesterday I hooked it up to my Crosman PCP with about a 80cc reservoir and topped it up in about 5 minutes.

See this compressor as a good alternative to a gut bustin’ hand pump.

Will be checking out more as time allows

I have mine in hand as well. Will make a trip to a hose shop and get set up this week.

“Walter” has one in hand now as does “nalby” and I am on the list. Mine is 2 to 3 weeks out according to Tom.

Thats great Walter.

Tom really knows his shit and is a legend in paintball.

Well I know (and he noticed) I dissed the whole thing from the gitgo and now am pretty sure I’ll be chewin crow for some time 🙂

He has one with 80 hours already and on inspection had zero wear. Seals were like new yet.

Tom has been very gracious and I will help any way I can.

Walter…..

he is more patient that some people I know and has been in online forums for some time now.

And hey at least you can tell people you are crafty enough to catch crow . . . I personally would leave out the eating part.

Where are they being sold?

Tom is offering the initial 100 through AO in this thread:

http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?t=251401

he is basically looking for beta testers and offering 4500 psi only for now. Later they plan to do a larger run sell them to the public through several venues and offer 3000 psi as well.

As far as shut off there is an auto off once you reach certain pressures but not a back on once you go down. Although that could be an aftermarket piece.

Happy to say I am one of the Beta testers for Tom. He found my honesty refreshing and so is trusting me for a no bullshit evaluation.
I am honored beyond words. Thank you Tom!
It is in the mail this A.M.

if you have a long way to drive for a fill , this just might be the knees bees.

Here is something to ask about,

It says to put a filter between the shop compressor and the high pressure unit, shouldn’t it have some kind of filter or trap between the high pressure unit and the gun tank or your storage tank

If not then anything coming out of the high pressure unit could get into your storage tank or guns system.

????????????

Correct this is an unfiltered system. It is designed for use with paintball guns that do not require as high as filtration level as air for breathing. It will work fine for air rifles as well.

I plan to add filtration both on the incoming and outgoing air lines although what quality will depend on my pocket book.

shop compressor runs it roach at 85psi

Is this compressor hooked up to a shop compressor and assisting it to a higher PSI or a stand alone unit?
