Q:

The Rapid has arrived

I arrived back from work to find the brown box leaning against the front door….Glad it was there,
because I wasn’t home, I was afraid it would need to be signed for and the UPS man would have to
make another trip tomorrow…It was quite a battle deciding whether to go to work or stay home and wait for the gun to arrive. 😀
I scoped it up with a Nikko Stirling Diamond 10-50X60mm and got it sighted…Was very windy and
the wind direction was changing 360 degs as it tends to do in my little spot of heaven….I know it is
close but will need some tweaking when I get a calm day….Here are shots of the new addition.
I am sure it looks pretty much like every Rapid you have seen before….

I broke out the Chrony and here are the numbers
3,200psi fill shot down to 2,300psi ending

I am quite pleased with the ES and SD even though it is not the best I have seen….The FPS is
outragious but seems to be dead on at 65yds. It was difficult to tell exactly how accurate the
16.0gr JSB’s were but by all indications this is going to be a shooter with some major power….. I
wanted to try some different fill pressures to reduce the ES but nature had a different idea as it
started to rain just as I was finishing the second string….

wow thats one of the most consistent group i seen even at a lower psi…

nice gun but i just dont like the way the gun looks…to me it looks really big and heavy…but thats just me 😀

That’s what regulators do. I can’t believe airforce hasn’t come up with a regulator yet 😥

Nice rifle Jeff, enjoy!

I hate to say it 80, but it ain’t regulated. It has some sort of new fangled
fast flow valve…I just ordered a Theoben regulator for it so it should be
a super consistant shooter when I add that…

very nice mate . i seen this on the rapid site aswel
one thing i have been wondeing about r the scope mounts
i,m going to look into a set myself i like the idea off tthem

Thanks rabbits.
The scope rings are great. You could even swap the scope over to a
different gun as long as you have the turret settings for each gun. The
only problem I am having is the factory weaver rail, if you could get
someone to make a weaver rail that is longer, it would be better than the
factory weaver rail….I am finding that the screws that attach the rail to
the block take up 2 of the slots and leave you with very little room to
locate the scope mounts. I would like for my scope to be further back but
the scope ring is as far back as I can get it on the rail and it is up against
the turret block on the scope….Allen Zasadny cut dovetail grooves in my
breech block so I am now looking to find a longer weaver rail or 2 small
rails to place on either side of the magazine slot so that I can move the
scope further back….

I isn’t as heavy as it looks but it also isn’t the lightest I have had….I like
the bulk of the breech block for some reason….
I am driving myself nuts with different fill pressures and hammer spring
settings trying to find the most efficient and flattest curve….It is
definately a shooter but the wind is blowing crazy hard so I can’t see how
it groups yet….
