This isn’t good…
I’ve been meaning to ask about this for sometime. This is getting worse, and am wondering how to remedy it. For some reason the cocking knob stem is making a indention on the front part of the slot where you lock it over. It’s actually putting a dent of sorts on the frame edge, with a big burr sticking up. Is the knob stem being slammed forward during the firing cycle to do this? There is a ever so slight play fore and aft with the breach. Just want to keep this from getting worse… any suggestions appreciated!

You lost the small little sleeve that goes over the thread of your knob.
I suppose so. It hasn’t given me any problems at all yet even after 1 month of owning it. Still shoots great and might I say that the accuracy is superb. My springers and pumps along with my CO2 is nowhere compared to this beast!

Mine has also been hitting it too, but not as bad as the picture posted above and it’s still a stock Talon SS.

my frame took the beating of a .45 valve closing at much greater force and it held up just fine
Rob, gotcha, but what would the cause be for this? I mean, sounds like this happens to just about everyone then over time? Just gets me curious. Even if it turns out to be no real problem, it still sure doesn’t seem like this kind of damage, small or worse, should happen eh.

All I know is that it happened on all mine without issue. Seems that it cant be good… but yes, it appears to be a common thing.
Well OK then, couldn’t help but think something was a bit amiss when noticing this, but very glad to hear it’s no biggie. Just hope it stays where it is and doesn’t get worse. Feeling a bit better now, thanks guys.
Mine did the same thing…………….. on my Condor, My SS, and my other SS…… It is worrisome, but seems to get to a point where it stops…. but then again, I’ve had some work done on my guns so that may have stopped it as well.

WOK, are you saying that is what is causing the splaying at the back of his frame? I just looked at my Condor, which has never had the cocking knob removed from it. Well, not until about a minute-and-a-half ago anyway after reading your reply to see what you were refering to. I don’t see that the cocking knob has sleeve on it. I see a fillet machined from the threads to the body of the cocking knob, but that’s it.
Did AF maybe change at some point from a two piece knob (body with threaded rod) that required a sleeve over the remaining threads to a one-piece knob machined from one piece of material? Seems like might be the case, as all of the thread on my knob is in the breach when installed.
……………or am I just missing something?
