To all the 22XX owners
Well i got my first 2240 pistol/carbine saturday. it has a 16in barrel on it steel breach with lightened trigger spring and its fully shrouded. What i want to know is can i get between 800-900 fps out of this gun with co2 if not how bout with HPA all input would be wonderful

CP, what lengths do the custom shop tubes come in. I actually thought about ordering an entire gun like that…I wonder if it would be a wash, or if you would save money over buying all the parts separately??? I do think, if memory serves correctly, that you can only get a “custom shop” tube by buying an entire gun. An added benefit of going this route would be you could have anything engraved on the tube at no additional cost.
Is this tube made of the same material and thickness as the disco tubes?
if you get a custom shop tube there is no roll stamping it is all laser etched in and you can safley pump to 2100 psi
RJ—I have a 2250 using 3000PSI–with 1600psi regulator….you can safely go to 2K psi, BUT you have to isolate the “roll-stamped” area entirely…I get over 900fps with 14.3 pellets. I get 33.3fpe with 25.4gr jumbo monsters(jsb) 770-790fps… 😀 😀 😀

Never been a big fan of CO2
use it in the MA .25 as thats they way it was set up, same with my Drulov Condor and FWB C5 semiauto.
My two greatest issues with CO2 is lower power potential than HPA and the fact that sooner rather than later the EPA is going to dump a huge carbon tax on it now that the Supreme Court has given them the power to regulate CO2. Just last week the agency dumped a phone book worth of new regs based on CO2 the will affect most of our nation…heck they are even regulating concrete mix under the new rules so dont tell me regs & rules on direct release of CO2 are not coming
besides it fits in with the liberal anti weapon mindset too
anyways I am sticking to HPA or converting guns to it wherever possible.
besides up here in MN CO2 is worthless two thirds of the year…LOL
That 900 fps is on air, not co2 correct? OOPS 😳 never mind, I just noticed you also said, 3k fill. I have my answer 😳 If it was co2, I would have had to somehow convince you to sell me that valve 😯 😆
Stock tubing would do me no good. I am not a machinist and I would like to have all the holes in place….

Hadn’t heard he was getting out of AG parts tho…be sad if he did as his quality of workmanship is incredible.
The Blue Fork grip frame is slick, will accept most AR grips as well of course most all 1911 grips with a pierce grip adapter. there were some issue with his 1st run but as far as I can tell they were corrected in his current run.

I doubt either MAC1 or MA will sell you a finished custom tube tho they may sell you stock. Then again the raw stock is rather easy to come by.
As far as valves…I have one of MA’s 25XX builds in bulk CO2…very powerful piece. Also running the B&A Disco valve on another thats popping them out there out of a 14″ barrel at a bit over 900 in .22 with a 3K fill
you can of course use a cut down Discovery tube or for the same money, maybe less you can pick up a Stainless Steel PCP tube from Colthran Machine which is good for another 500psi over the stock Crosman product plus he will delete the guage hole if you wish thus doing away with another potential leakage point.
Don as well manufactures a fluted hammer to increase striker speed.
As far as the valves you can go with either the stock Crosman or a B&A max flow Discovery valve
End fill, again either the Crosman or you could pick up one of the very slick units Mountain Air manufactures
Frankly you get right down to it there isn’t one part of the 22XX you can’t get now in a vastly superior custom component and that even includes the grip frame if you are familiar with Blue Fork’s AR grip unit.
My attitude at this point is to decide what your ultimate goal is then decide whether its even sensible to buy the base 22XX and discarding 2/3rds of the pistol rather than piecing your gun together from alternative resources.

I was not aware of “Blue Fork’s Ar grip unit, I will have to look that one up. I do have a “boss valve”, a couple of Roy’s MA valves, and a Disco valve on the way. I was planning on doing a comparison on all three with all other parts being equal to see how they perform against one another.
I am familiar with Don’s stainless tubes…but unfortunately I cannot get him to take my money. I have written him twice with good sized orders, but he has never written back. The word through the “grape vine” is that he is moving away from manufacturing “air gun” parts…that would explain his disinterest in taking my money. I did want one of his tubes…hopefully he will answer me.
I noticed that Tim at Mac 1 has stainless pcp tubes on his web site, but I think I recall him telling me a while back that, “he does not sell any pcp components anymore”. I will have to call him to confirm.
I like the idea of the gauge port with gauge on the disco tube as I will most likely run hpa tanks on these builds with regulators and it would be nice to see if the pressure at the valve is what it is suppossed to be. Thanks for the info!

NUGLOR—-top rifle in your picture..is that an AR2078/79 stock you’re using?? Looks awesome, what ever it is ❗ ❗
80GRIT—-if my math was correct, it’s cheaper ,and ya get better stuff (barrel not roll stamped) by just buying the custom..PLUS ya could get the “camo” stock, which I REALLY like.
