Q:

To be or not to be, meaning single or multi….

So, I am facing the choice, either to spend another half a year/one year to make the multi shot breech for Matador .30 or to make 100 long R3 Matadors .30 single shot withing few months, with new valve (more solid to the energy) and new hammer (heavier especially for .30).

What do you think?

Hemn – you need a 30 cal. You know it. It’s my go to gun on raccoons and opossums and they are really active again this spring. 😉

Hi Ed,

I’m very happy that you asked for input from the forum members on this subject and I’m looking forward to upgrading my valve and hammer on my .30 Long. Ed, clearly it’s more than about the sale with you as you reach back to current owners and allow them to upgrade their rifles with new components and innovations.

That is why Edgun manufacturer is totally different from other airgun manufacturer,,, we have a direct communication with him and he is follow up his customer demands/claims …

Ed, if i don’t had a pellet problem ,,,i would send you money to reserve 2 of these .30cals…. i have quite tired with a .22cal pellets,,, then what will happen if i order .30cal pellets .????!!

Hello Ed. Please put me on your list for 2 of the improved air valves and also 2 of the heavier hammers.

Great. Thank you! Put me on the list for the upgraded hammer and valve for my standard 30.

Thank you very much, guys! I see that majority voted for single shot. OK, I put it to the production plan. There will be 100 long R3, single shot Matador in .30 caliber. I expect to make them during summer.

I also will order some more new valves and heavier hammers for the old .30 guns to upgrate them for those who will want it.

Thanks a lot!

Ed

I really like my .25 R3m, so I would have to vote for the multi shot in a .30 cal.

Hi Ed,

Love R3M.

MS always have single shot option. when using single shot on r3m, the cocking is very smooth and light. Single shot is classic now. It’s better to go forward.

In cold Winter, I love the ms, no need to take off my gloves to load pellets.

No need second shot to kill, but always get ready for next target.

vote for MS.

Just when I think that I have bought my last Edgun and I don’t need anymore: you come out with an improvement or something new!

this will actually happen to everyone and i feel the same…for several things.. LoL

Hello Ed. I also vote for the single shot 30 cal. The guys that need a quick follow up shot need to learn how to shoot before using the 30 cal Matador as a hunting gun!

If you have your shit together (range, shooting angle and wind) a second shot shouldn’t be needed. You being an ex Spetsnas, you know what I mean.

I’m interested in the heavier hammer and improved air valve!

When can I buy them; or do I have to get on the list and buy another Matador from you?

Ass Hole! 😆

‘Goat…..just wanted to point out that you signed your name wrong!!! While you may well be an “ass hole” it is unseemly to advertise it!

i vote for the single shot, less moving parts and faster to get 100 .30 in the market for the guys to enjoy :D, you’ll have the time to do the breech later.

Will there be a new stronger valve stem available for existing 30 cal Edguns then?

Wise move…because Uncle Hoot says “Single Shot” with improved valve/hammer. Superior performance will always trump speed of reloading.

No one really needs a multi-shot .30 at this time. Spend your time and money to improve the single shot before you try to satisfy the few who want a magazine fed .30!

+1! Single shot and a proven valve stem lasting at least 15k shots if not more.

Most people like SS. It’s solid design and proved for years. MS just come out and its design is not that smooth.

If you like to challenge yourself to make a better smooth MS, I prefer MS.
