Q:

Trigger problems

Anyone ever have problems with thier trigger. I have modded the gun and shot a decent amount but lately I have been having problems. I took the pos safety out when I modded the rifle.

When I try to cock the rifle it either wont cock or it wont shoot when it is cocked (kinda like the safety is on).

I have the gun totally apart again and doesnt seem like anything is wrong with it.

Any suggestions?

using the monster hammer spring with the powerwheel has likely rounded the sear corners and ruined the trigger bits.

toss the spring or set it up with out powerwheel and buy new sears.

I have pretty much tried all combinations I could come up with.

I am still gonna give it hell before I get the new parts to try.

Thanks guys!

Did you put the stock spring back in and see if it would cock?

Are you sure of the hammer!!!!!!????

And have the two sears nice square ends?

Whenit’s a new rifle without too much preload on the spring it must be no big deal, ask someone elso to look at it, sometimes you are in a wrong loop, and have a blind spot, ( I know 🙁 ).

Good luck.

Shit after I really looked at I realized that small gap was meant to be there. I am actually at loose now. I am out of ideas. I may just buy a new trigger group and put the parts in just to see if something is worn out or bent. Other than that I am really not sure what the hell it can be. I have tried stretching springs, cleaning lube off, cocking with out the breech to see if the breech is the problem last thing I have to check is to see if maybe the hammer some how.

I am getting a new one so I will just wait till then to see if that is the problem.

Thanks guys

When it’s bend open your in trobble.

But you can make your own, een steel rhat you can temper / make it hard.

Or give AF a call maybe the can help you fast.

i dont think that the sear is “broken” if the gap youre refering to is clean and about .03 wide its where the EDM wire passed through to cut the hole into the sear when it was made….now if its a crack the yes its probibly broke…

this is what they should look like…Greg

Okay I think I may have figured out the problem. I took the sear out and it looks like it is broken. It is split at the top of the hole in it.

Now I just have to order on from airforce or does someone here make the trigger components?

Thanks guys!

I talked to Adam yesterday and he may have given me my solution. I will work on the gun and see if it can be corrected.

Thanks guys.

Thank you Adam for taking time out of you day and give me a call!

Ya check the hammer to make sure it is in the proper position.

hi,

did you put more pressure on the hammer?

Is the hammer up side down in your rifle?

Did you put the trigger parts in good position when you build it together?

On this pic. the triggerpart on the right must fit between the two fingers of the middle part.

Cudos to you guys.

Took out the safety block. Moved the springs around and the sumbitch still wont cock. Took the rifle completely apart and reassembled twice still wont cock!!!

I have one the selph valves and springs could that be the problem?

Has anyone installed stronger replacement springs for the trigger?

Thanks!

Newbie,

Did you take the safety block out by removing the two pins? If you leave it in, it will migrate to the safe postion and tie up your trigger.

I find that with too powerful of a hammer spring, like on the air archer, I need to move the forward spring, I guess you call that the sear spring, forward to give more leverage on the sear to ensure that it catches the hammer.

Hope this helps, and be sure to keep that hammer uncocked until your ready to shoot.
