Hammer spring too heavy, soft shots without changing out hammer and hammer spring….. seems like Marc has better results just by tuning.

just info gathered here fellas trying to sort out getting their US made valves to work.
now that you mention it noone has published any shot strings from them yet?? curious….

I have published strings from Blods valve. VERY CONSISTANT AND AS MUCH POWER AS YOU WANT!! (within reason
😉 )
I have stated my theories on why the guys are having problems with the spring. TAKE THE FUCKIN’ POS POWERWHEEL OUT AND USE SPACERS 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄 🙄
That powerwheel is massively over compressing the spring.

Leupy has a spring setup that allows you to keep the powerwheel and it just for those that want to keep the powerwheel. I am ordering the setup tomorrow just to see if it works.

If Leupy makes it for sale it will work for sure.
Say hello from the TAG here I for one miss him and his fine work on display. Report how it works okay?

Walter….

I use a stock spring in mine but a heavier hammer (105 grams) and get 30 fpe (which was my target) from a 12″ barrel no problem.

30 fpe from a 12″ barrel is crackin’ 😀

Fantastic results ! The valve is my last frontier for improvement … after seeing numbers like yours I need to get working on that !

Great stuff ! 😀

Thats the nice thing about a blod valve. It DOESN’T need extreme force to open it 🙄
Sure, if you pump the bottle up to 3000psi ‘cos you wanna shoot slugs for 100fpe, it needs some fair whack like any other, but in .22 and .25, you can achieve 1000fps with 31 grains with a 2500psi fill REAL EASY..

6mm stem 4,2mm hole the stem tapers to a 4mm piece where the poppet rests. Angled ports.

I’ll try and make a picture somtime soon.

Cheers,

Marc

Mine’s stock, I have no problems.

I’m guessing that’d be the Condor Hi-Flow then? Effective but fragile, or so I’ve heard. Easy to crumple the side-wall of the stem when securing the tophat. Man needs a ROBUST valve on his shootin’ iron! 😆

Mine’s stock, I have no problems.

Give it a rest Mam!

I agree with walther. The blodknob valve although very nicely machined is pretty overkill for most applications. You don’t need heavy hammers and heavy springs to get a .25 to 950fps. To much movement in the rifle and your bashing the valve.

I am a fan for using the right tools for the job. Why would one use a huge surface area that the valve seals when one resticts it later on to say 4mm.

Opening a valve is pretty much all about surface area. The smaller it is the easier it is to open. If you want a 9mm you need a large valve. Than Blods valve is super! But for normal ag stuff My oppinion is it is overkill!

Not intended on bashing. I only offer my mods to a select few becouse I don;t have the capacity nor the time to do large runs! Blodnob and brad offer it to a whide range of people, and I respec t them for that! It’s just not my cup of tea!

Chears Marc

In my opinion you have …..crap …… great taste in strings…..

I mean your setup beats the Blodnob setup with the trouble they are having making them open 🙂
