Q:

UK airgun limits are a good thing

The beauty of the UK limit is it levels the field for all competitors, we still get 50m / 65m shooters hitting a 25mm killzone with .177 at 780ft/ps there or abouts anyway. What i’d like to try is the type of shooting on offer in the states though, big bore at distances of over 100m outside with wind and gradient changes, we just don’t have those type of facilities, i can shoot a rimfire or centrefire on extended ranges but it’s not what you’d call a typical hunting scenario. Yeah i’m jealous of the facilities like the recent extreme benchrest in Arizona.
However, i really like the flexibility of the Airforce type airguns as i do like to fiddle with stuff, am i right in thinking the UK version is sold under Gunpower, but for the dedicated fiddler you can chop and change allsorts, from calibre to suppressed to bullpup with a starting rifle and adding as you go instead of buying the next “great rifle” they’re all great, they’re all pretty much better than ever.
Anyway, what’s the next big deal to come to airgunning , I’m thinking something based on linear magnets and magic stuff like that.
I’d like to ask a favour, what would be my best Airforce rifle to start with prior to fiddling.

nice to meet you guys anyway

i agree on the majority of what you said, carry in public is a non starter fellah, and to be honest mate you do have a problem with firearms

gaz,
In US we DO NOT have a gun problem ❗
We do have a people problem ❗
We have a bunch of idiots that never spanked their brats and let them be indoctrinated by radical liberals, progressives, and violent religions.
We have those spoiled brats in gov’t failing to preserve a controlled immigration.
We have millions of illegals not paying taxes but getting free education, free health care, free food, free clothing, etc.
What we need is more guns in all public places so we can take out the bezerkers before they murder us in mass.
But we still have that brat problem that needs re-educated before they are allowed to carry those scarry weapons of self defense.

P.S.
Terrorist don’t want the average citizen to carry weapons ❗
Corrupt politicians don’t want the average citizen to carry weapons ❗
Teachers don’t want our spoiled brats to carry weapons ❓ Well, sure they are not being well educated ❗
Personally, I don’t think anyone under the age of 25 should be allowed to carry weapons in public.

hi birdman
it’s true i am jealous of the freedom you guys have, we can have any airgun upto 12ft/lb’s including pcp and most airgunners know how to ramp up the power with some fiddling, what i would like, is to be able to test myself with longer ranges using heavier calibres but we aren’t allowed, nanny state and all that, if i wanted too i could apply for a section 1 and get what you guys have no problem, but i might as well get a centrefire or rimfire as they classed the same, we rely more on absolute accuracy as opposed to outright power.
yes you can take down bigger game with the big bore guns, we just dont have the game to take down, the biggest we have are foxes and i couldn’t shoot a dog ffs,
rabbits at 50m squirrels at 40m and ratty at 30m headshots all round,

at the same time we dont have a gun problem, the states is a scary place because your gunlaws are so liberal.
thanks for the reply birdman and have a great christmas

Gazl UK , There is no better way of saying limited is limited . I’m glad that I don’t live in the UK . You live there and you have to live with your limits
on the power limit that your country says you can have without a special permit for you to own a PCP AIRGUN . I’m not putting you down personally .
It really is a shame that you will never know the thrill of being able to shoot high caliber PCPS’ like we can here in the U.S.A. . Even if you only want
to shoot at paper targets at long range distances here in the States the pleasure of begin able to test yourself allows you to do so and gives you a
mental felling of self-esteem that doesn’t lock you into a limited shooting frame .
