Q:

Upgraded my rangefinder!

I used to have a Nikon 3i rangefinder, but it was not very good in darker conditions. It would give me really wierd readings or just not work at all. Also the numbers were hard to see when it got dark. So I sold it and bought a Leica Rangemaster 1600-r instead, and man! You get what you pay for! This rangefinder works much better in darkness and has illuminated numbers. It also has a real sweet piece of glass. Even the case it comes in is much more lush than the Nikon.

The only bad thing is that instead of showing the calculated shooting value, it shows the true value first and then a second value after Wich is the calculated value with the angle worked into it. So you have to wait for the second value to appear. Kind of annoying because on the Nikon it just showed the calculated value and nothing else (when in that mode)

So far, no regrets. The Rangefinder is a very important tool.

What kind of birds are those? From Iraq, I assume?

Yeah one of the best rangefinders out there.

I use my Golfing Bushnell rangefinder when out in the woods.

Lol 😛

I was looking at range finders last month and did a side-by-side comparison of the Nikon Aculon to the Leica. Hands down, the Leica is the better unit. The glass is amazingly crisp/clear, and it was extremely consistent with distancing in both bright and low light situations.

Unfortunately, my wallet wasn’t as crystal clear as the Leica, so I settled for the less expensive Aculon. As luck would have it, Cabela’s had mismarked the price on one of the Aculon boxes (which was already on sale), so I made off like a bandit.

Now that my friend, is truth. Good shooting :4:

My brother,,,

very good choice and as you said, exactly you get what you pay for, this damn leica is really nice and works very very good, i have this Rangemaster for years, and had no issue/comment on it at all ,,, best stuff i have yet…

Yes, if it is compatible with Strelok that is awesome. But otherwise useless to me. This Rangefinder can be had with ballistics if you get the 1600-b but that’s for powderburner, not airguns.

At the same time, if you have to look at your smartphone you might as well type in the range anyways lol. But still cool.

thumbs up … best rangefinder out there .. lecia

but if you wait a little bit .. i have notice this year they come up with 2x new rangefinders with bluetooth connect by your smartphone to give you a ballistics !

i believe in near future all new rangefinder will give similar option…

i like the idea specially if sterlok find a way to make it compatible ! dont you think ?
