UPS opened the box I sent Neil Clague?
When I shipped the gun, less the stock, the gun was uncocked, trigger carefully adjusted, and pressurized.
When it arrived, Neil indicated the trigger was all the way back in an awkward position and the gun wouldn’t fire.
Herie are the pics he sent me:

After looking at the pics for a few minutes, I noticed the two adjustment screws appeared to be screwed all the way up and perhaps that was locking up the trigger against the sear.
Anyone have other thoughts on what the problem might be…

I wonder how far along the shroud is? 🙂 I’m excited and it’s not even mine !
It looks to me like the trigger was smashed on something and that pushed it up into that position.
If the adjustment screws were screwed all the way in the trigger would go in the other direction against the sear… 😉
The rear screw is just visible at the trigger housing and if you draw in an allen bolt head you’ll see it isn’t in all the way.
When I pack stuff to ship the test is , if it can be driven over by a car and survive that is just enough padding… 😯

Hoot this sucks. I am glad Neil got it all squared away but this drama set my stripper delivery back a few days. 😀
I can’t wait to get that package so I can start using my gun. Tis a lil loud.
That’s awesome, Hoot! I was wondering who’s matador was on its way to neil. I just asked him about having a shroud and stuff made for mine, and he mentioned that someone was sending him one in the near future. I was awaiting to see his results and ideas :).

Hoot my man,
I am interested in the pics after Neil gets done. Will you be posting on this thread or the other one that started this whole discussion all the way to now a modification? I think it was ‘quieting your edgun inexpensively’ or something like that. Just don’t want to miss out.
Cant imagine in my mind what the two styles will look like. I like the look of the cricket shroud that is complete or replacement of the stock one…looks cleaner. I am not a fan of the moderator piece screwed into the barrel. Which are your requesting from Neil.
Suck about your trigger and glad Neil got things worked out. I would have been really bummed.
And I’ve had even worse from Fed-X. 😥
Far too often, the local stores, FX and UPS, try to set the policies for the companies themselves. Read= They make it up as they go along. There is NO policy against AG’ at UPS, but try telling that to the local UPS Store morons! They get just as pissy about shipping a Knife! 😈 F’n Idiots!

I am really interesting to see what will happen with your 1st choice, 😀 😀
Guys, I thought corruptions are exist only in Iraq!!!! 😯 😯 😯 😯 😯 😯 i am surprised to here such a stupid services by UPS.
Cheers from Hemn .M, till now he thought corruption is available in Iraq, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. we have a very special, unique & strange type of corrupter & corruptions.
I believe option “1” is the best. Neil has some modified baffles he uses that he says will outperform the Edgun OEM baffles. I’m good with that. And…if I need a bit more, I can screw on the “can” which will be 1.5″ OD and take care of any residual air.
I’m really curious to see how this turns out. Looks, and efficiency, his shroud and moderator work has always been first rate!
Thanks for the input on the trigger.

Correct me if I am wrong, but are not UPS and FedEx actually secretly government owned entities?
I say that because they both fuck you over and there is not oversight. 😛

I ship USPS if I can.
And since the BATF noted Russian markings on the action…I’m afraid Uncle Hoot’s days are numbered. Be warned Hoot, the BATF is consulting with the MVD as I type!
Once UPS x-rayed it, and saw that it looked like a part from some funky firearm, and the sender or receiver were not FFL holders, the BATF worked it over. 😯
I ship USPS if I can.
The community I live near by, Eugene, is made up of a population that is composed of 50% followers of the band Fish who came for a concert and never left, the other 50 % is comprised of half retired lumber workers and half Dead Heads/hippies, politically they think Obama is a right wing radical.
As a result:
I have to deal with the UPS stores here, they will not take air guns.
The Fed Express will not take air guns.
But both will ship to me, it is a political decision on a hysterical local level I fear.
The post office is a two woman office here, 20 miles outside of that above mentioned bastion of liberalism, they take anything I put on the counter with a friendly smile.
Sorry that shit happened to you Hoot, that is just worry and stress no one needs.

When I was younger, and worked on the loading docks loading trucks, there were certain terminals whose freight was always f-uped. Poorly loaded. Beat to s**t. Parts of order missing. Always a head ache dealing with loads from these places. Always retaping packages, sending things to “OSD” (Over, Short, Damaged). Nothing changed. All dockworkers were aware of it. How could company officials not be aware?
Don’t know that it will be of any help, but I sent an email off to UPS regarding their “tarnished” reputation.
No, I never worked for UPS, but always took pride in my work, and loaded to make things ride.
Sorry for rant. It only takes a place or two that most things pass thru to screw things up. Please bitch loudly to UPS, or any other carrier when stuff is screwed up. Maybe the morons can be gotten rid of, and someone that values a job can replace them.

Now, for the important part…Neil suggested two types of solution to the noise produced by the powerful .25 caliber. He’s already done this mod for the Cricket. It looks really slick, and reports are that it is very very quiet.
The First Solution: A replacement carbon fiber shroud, with improved baffles, and a threaded end. That way I keep the OEM length, but can screw on a NC extra “can” for those special occasions.
The Second Option: A one piece shroud, with a permanent can attachment, but it all stays in place…no option to remove later.
Now, recall that Neil’s shroud will be a one piece unit on the Edgun parts it replaces.

Pics to follow when he finishes the project.
Thanks for the input on the trigger.

Hoot,
Good to hear Neil got your edgun squared away.
I’m trying to visuAlize how option one looks. Is it a one piece shroud with threaded end piece that when attached (screwed on?), will tension the barrel and spacer(the section with the scope rail)?
I’m excited as hell to see some pics.
BTW , I’m having Neil make me a two piece mod for my cricket. I already have a one piece unit on it but want the flexibility to shorten the length when noise is not an issue.

I was surprised when I entered UPS to see a sign stating that they reserve the right to open and search any package dropped off for delivery! I sent one of my pieces of art that I make. I carefully packaged it and held it in place with 1×2’s throughout. Even if it were dropped from a three foot height it could not have sustained the damage incurred. When the buyer sent me pictures it was broken in five pieces. The base was deliberately broken apart as if to look inside. I insured it for double the value. This way I could reimburse the buyer his money, and pay myself for the piece. It is obvious that they opened it and destroyed it thinking I was trying to ship drugs under the guise of one horrific looking piece of art work 🙄
