Q:

UPS opened the box I sent Neil Clague?

When I shipped the gun, less the stock, the gun was uncocked, trigger carefully adjusted, and pressurized.

When it arrived, Neil indicated the trigger was all the way back in an awkward position and the gun wouldn’t fire.

Herie are the pics he sent me:

After looking at the pics for a few minutes, I noticed the two adjustment screws appeared to be screwed all the way up and perhaps that was locking up the trigger against the sear.

Anyone have other thoughts on what the problem might be…

Neil got it figured out, and unlocked the trigger mechanism. (phew!!!)

Now, for the important part…Neil suggested two types of solution to the noise produced by the powerful .25 caliber. He’s already done this mod for the Cricket. It looks really slick, and reports are that it is very very quiet.

The First Solution: A replacement carbon fiber shroud, with improved baffles, and a threaded end. That way I keep the OEM length, but can screw on a NC extra “can” for those special occasions.

The Second Option: A one piece shroud, with a permanent can attachment, but it all stays in place…no option to remove later.

Now, recall that Neil’s shroud will be a one piece unit on the Edgun parts it replaces.

I believe option “1” is the best. Neil has some modified baffles he uses that he says will outperform the Edgun OEM baffles. I’m good with that. And…if I need a bit more, I can screw on the “can” which will be 1.5″ OD and take care of any residual air.

I’m really curious to see how this turns out. Looks, and efficiency, his shroud and moderator work has always been first rate!

Pics to follow when he finishes the project.

Thanks for the input on the trigger.

There’s no explaining the actions of some people. Why someone would think it ok to tamper with goods in transit. Too bad these types aren’t born with an “M” on their forehead so they could be clubbed like a baby seal. (I don’t condone the clubbing of baby seals. Morons, yes, baby seals, no)

Hope rifle is still ok and that Neil can work his art on it.

Hoot,

That’s what it looks like. If it doesn’t cock, the adjustment screws are bottomed out on the trigger lever.

I can’t believe ups did that! You need to notify the shipper and let them know they tampered with your stuff. That’s bullshit!

Is there anything else wrong with your gun?

Ask Neil to back out the screws and see if it cocks. It should if that is the only thing they fucked with.

I’m Sorry to hear that happened to you. I’ hope it is something minor and easily fixable.

Why anybody would still use UPS just baffles me, ……..been selling bows for many years and quickly realised many years ago that UPS is absolutely the worst, I don’t even buy an airgun if the only shipping option is UPS
