Vented Shroud
I have noticed that my AA S410 shroud has 3 5/32″ holes at 9, 12, and 3 O’Clock. I have heard that the Edgun has many (9-12) tiny holes drilled at the rear of its shroud. Is this effective in lessening the report? I ask as I am thinking to drill holes in the rear of my .25 Marauder’s shroud in an effort to quiet this beast. While Crosman has done a good job in quieting this gun, I wonder if some more holes drilled in the right place would improve its performance. If so, how many and of what diameter?

Ya Pab, exactly. I gave shooting chrony several weeks to make good…even had Pyramid Air call them up. The best I got was an offer from them to buy a new unitr from them at what was supposed to be a discount. I could do better through my whole saler. AND I’m not buying anything from them. I’ll spend my money elsewhere…hopefully, others will also.
These companies seem to forget that nowadays with the internet, things like product quality and after sales service are easily reportable to the entire world within seconds!!!
No longer can they screw people over and others are none the wiser…. 😎
Hi AT, I just saw your post. I’m lovin’ that my .25 Marauder was a fraction of the cost of the more expensive guns, but is still shooting well enough to be consideered in their class.
I was stunned at how Shooting Chrony screwed me. You would think that we would be valued as good customers and salesmen by way of our discussions about their products. That Mandy, listed as a VP no less, is the rudest, most sadistic female that I have had the displeasure to deal with in quite a long time. The good news is that several people have already written to me thanking me for the heads up. They have purchased other manufacturer’s chronographs. Oh well.
Companies would do well to help us with the problems that they sold to us and made money from. I don’t expect them to go broke to help us, but they can do better than “take it or leave it…up yours attitude”.
Again, Thank You Edward for being a part of the process and communicating with us, your customer base. That demonstrates a respect for us that has not gone unnoticed. Hey Steve, I can’t agree with you more on this. I was saving up for a Rapid until I saw Cyggy’s post. Then the thought became “why take my chance”. Even Daystates are not perfect. A fella in my neighborhood just bought a MCT and it’s shooting like a shot gun right now. He already has an AirRanger which he’s happy with so it just shows that expensive doesn’t automatically mean better. We’ll see how his problem is gonna be resolved with the supplier.
It’s just good business sense to have a manufacturer getting involved with its customers base (not just current customers). Every member/lurker is a potential customer.

Thanks for the good words but I cannot see here anything surprising. I mean that I have the real feedback, that is me, who needs that, not you. First of all I consider my clients as people who let me survive and bring me their money. I just cannot be rude to to them or pay no attention to their needs. The second and I think the most important thing is I am shooter myself and I love airguns. I know what shooters need since I know what I need from airguns 😉 That is quite easy. And we change, change and change our guns almost every time when we start a new amount of them. You can see it yourself for shrouds at least. That is not only business, that is hobby. I like get your money, no doubt 🙂 but, as well, I like good and positive reaction to what I do, that is as important as money, I insure you! 😉 Many of those who have Edgun says that there is a kind of aura in it, that is true — I put a piece of my soul in each of it and very sensitive people can feel it calling it voodu 🙂 I will keep going on this way as long as possible and hope you will still feel it!

I am pleasantly surprised how my “Vented Shroud” thread has developed. I never thought that Edward of the Edgun fame would contribute, but I am sure pleased that he did. It goes to show that there is still integrity in the world. Thanks Edward! 😀
On many occasions people have tried asking manufacturers and their representatives questions. All too often those questions go unanswered. We know that they are watching what we talk about and do, but for some reason they choose not to communicate with us. To me, that is just so shortsighted. We are their customer base. People ask us what they should buy…and we tell them. Often it is not Crosman, or Gamo. Many times when we recommend an AirForce gun it is with the understanding that they will have to work on it to bringit up to where it should be out of the box. What’s with that? (Flash hiders on airguns? Why not a factory shroud?…something useful, not shameful!)
There are other very expensive airguns that have a crumby reputation right out of the box…I’m thinking of the Rapids, or Crapid as Cygnus X calls his. From what I have heard, people spend around $1800 on the initial purchase and then send it off to an airgun smith for hundreds more to get it shooting right. That’s bogus! Do they realize how many of their rifles were not sold as a result of his problems alone?

I do not agree, the out ballistic does not depend of how tight the pellet goes in the barrel, you have to calculate only the speed, weight and BC.
Is it possible cause Eun Jins fit so tight in the barrel that you are getting to much friction? I can’t really see it, but there has to be some explaination on the penetration results.
Hello Ed. I am still waiting for the long version Matador with the new LW barrel. Have they been pushed back to June also?
Do you plan on offering the long version in 25 cal?
