Q:

Villes ATL Vulcan .22

I´ll fix more pics later but here´s the first impression: Very nicely build, walnut stocked little and well balanced Gun. The trigger is superbly crisp and immensenly adjustable. It´s easy to work on – as is the norm with the Russian/ Czech Guns in general.

That’s a tad shorter than the Hummingbird, and a nice compact size (not counting the Cricket Compact).
More, please :smilen:

congrats Ville. It’s a good looking piece. How long is it, btw? We’re all waiting for someone to write the definitive review. How do you like the magazines? How many rounds do they hold? Tell ALL, please.
thank you,
darryl

670mm long. The mag holds 11 shots for the .22.

From what I remember that was a pretty isolated group in Europe and early in the production. We all inspected our barrels and I don’t remember any in the US having the issue. All I can imagine is they had a bad mandrel on the forging or caused it in other processing right at the factory. I certainly have not heard of any CZ barrels recently still having an issue. Of course the US dealers may have inspected and returned the bad ones here too back then. I know there were was a lot of questionable FX ST barrels that got returned and LW’s in the past. Most of those issues get worked out.

CZ airgun barrels may be poor quality. It is well known that they have some roughness in the choke area. Crickets were affected.

I was afraid that was going to be a winner we may have to invest in. That guy has had the last two years at least to read our complaints on the KGs and EDs. No wonder it is so good. If he can make a lot of them at that quality level the “other” guys may have to regroup. Even if the price does not go down – the quality is rising. We really needed a decent UK level walnut stock IMO.

Very nice looking gun. I look forward to your review. I will likely wait a bit to order one… want to see what some of you early owners have to say about them before I “pull the trigger” on one…

Ville, please look inside the barrel starting from the muzzle and using some light from the loading port side. Do you see any scratches?

No. I can’t see any scratches there. Why you ask ??

It’s just a Gun … a nice one but nevertheless just a Gun. Nothing to envy.
I’ll write a better review once i’ve had the chance to shoot it. That’s this Friday. As for now i have the Volcano in small bits while i do my usual check and clean and relube things. This one is the best build of the three real BP’s on the market. The guality of the materials used, fasteners and other bits is much better than either of the KG guns or the EG. Hands down. The fit and finish is a notch above and so is the feel and balance. The o-rings are of a good quality too – no need to change before you shoot it for the first time. If it shoots as well as a rightly set up Cricket it’ll be THE Bullpup. I have no doubt it’s at least as hard wearing as the others.
The trigger is sweet and easily adjustable. I like the case it comes in and the fact it includes a fill kit.
What’s not to like – there’s even an AGN Pen in the case … 😉
As said i’ll test it come Friday and check what speed it likes the best with the JSB 18gr. I hate to take pics but i will anyway and post them after.
The pressure Gauge is a … Hoot : It glows in the dark. I quess that comes in handy for night time Ratters and Gangbangers …

Envy is a sin. Everyone who opens this thread is now a sinner..
“I want to touch it” as uncle Hoot used to say..

Why was a ballpoint pen included? Is that used to seat pellets? Does it write too?

The stock looks like pine. Is it really light weight? Are you going to put truck bed liner on it.

Hoot:

Are you dumb ? I bought a Pen. It came in a nice plastic case which included a complimentary Gun and other bits. The stock on the complimentary gun is indeed walnut.

Hoot:

Yes to all…

It’s getting late over there and Ville’s probably already in bed with Vulcan, wife on the floor…

I just got back from a two hour scenic scooter ride. I expected targets to be posted. It looks real good from the photo. 😛
