Vulcan .25 new hammer

Mike WH. The grommet is a proven fact that it stops hammer spring twang. Yes it’s my own mod and it does work very well. AGT grommet is looser and doesn’t work as well. It might achieve better string consistency so I decided to go with factory grommet instead of mine.

Thanks, great result, correction stupendous .
If my .25 achieves that i shall be well satisified .
So, 250 bar fill. what was finish pressure, it looks like the last two shots or so were coming off reg.
Any idea what pressures were after each mag?
Cannot wait to get home and test fire mine.
Presumably not had to time to look for accuracy results yet. We all know no point in targets at 25 yds but 50 yds reasonable.
Still impressed by Keysersoze 200 yard group in the desert wind.
Question though Grommet? This your own mod from pre new hammer. Did it work? What did it achieve? Have you tested without grommet? Have you asked Pyotr Evgeny what the grommet could/does do?
Seem to recall pre hammer that you had a sweet spot with reasonable SD/ES but no figures from say string across 4 mags.
Be interesting when others post as I will late March, b….y holiday.
It looks like the last 6 shots were off the regulator. My gage doesn’t work very well. It doesn’t go past 220 bar. String I believe is from 240 to 120 bar according to my gage. I think hammer is definitely an improvement over the old one. I could never get the same consistent string. There were always a few sags and spikes in the string to mess it up. As for the grommet I took my hammer and grommet out and replaced hammer and grommet with the one AGT sent me. There is a slight ping to gun now but I know how to fix that. I have to get my gage changed then I can tell you more. I just fill to 240 bar and shoot 4 clips and refill. I never look at gage anyway. It just seems I could maybe fill to 230 and get the same results

I got mine today too. I replaced spring and hammer plus my grommet. with everything he sent me. From my chrony results I was able to shave almost 7-8 extreme spread. I was able to do a 41 shot string with ES of 12. would have never done it with old hammer. it looks like new hammer has a piece machined to keep spring centered. the tubing to suppress the twang from spring is not as effective as rubber grommet but I left it in there just in case I can squeeze a bit more consistency out of gun.
I will post shot string when upload is done. I filled to 250 bar and set spring for 10 shots then recorded the rest of the string and was still able to get ES of 12 with 41 shots. If I could set Reg down just a smidge then I could keep the line nice and flat and probably get 45 shots. but I’m not going there.

Lol, great I’m in Maryland. When I emailed him I attached a photo of Vulcan’s serial number. He replied back with in a few hours asking me to send him my address.

got my new hammer and spring and 22 screws yesterday in the mail it took only one week from evgeny thanks
So far the dealer says he hasnt found a problem and that it shoots fine!?!?!? 😯
I would ASSume that the rifle fired with the breech block in the rear position before the jammed pellet was moved in past the air port. Even then I would think a previously loaded pellet was loaded and not fired out the barrel. That would have been an extremely unusual combination of malfunctions. I wonder why it hasn’t happened to me YET ❓
As for the POI being inconsistent now in spite of a good SD and FPS, and with the shroud removed would possibly indicate a problem with the muzzle crown.
My problems often come in twos or threes also. Luckily I never married a third time 😳
They use a row boat to send it across the ocean……….
OK. Will do. Why does it take a month to get here?

Hi
We all wait your new hammer/spring test report on the .25.
Have to be patient until mid March as on a long holiday.
Anyone else done slow mo vids of the action firing?
Safe shooting
Yes I’m guessing the probe is bent. Without a dial indicator I couldnt say for sure but the witness line of excess lube left on the probe after lubing the barrel o-ring was uneven after cycling the bolt a few times. I guess I should also mention I tried 3 different scopes ( 2 Leupold’s and a Hawke) and 2 different mounts.

I got my new hammer and spring and screws on Friday. Very fast shipping. I tried to install it but I just kept stripping out the screws. They are in very tight. Any tricks to removing these?
