Q:

vulcan bipod installed

hey guys so i had a harris bipod sitting around for “Years” and was considering buying a atlas but knowing that the harris was a very good bipod just couldn’t see spending another 300.00 for a atlas “maybe in time” … i decided to put a rail under the vulcan that way if or when i wanted a flash light or laser or a deferent bipod or a bayonet LOL i could do so “so now long or short” i went with long why limit myself .. and the way i shoot off hand “standing” my left hand is by the trigger anyways “more of a target rifle team stance elbow tucked by the belt …as a point of contact etc…. so now the fun part… I took the stock off found my centerline taped it marked it ……

then i drilled a small pilot hole rechecked everything then drilled the hole the right size for the new bolts

now for the underside i bought a larger washer and locknuts the larger washers because my gunsmithing buddy said the washers would make sure its as strong as possible i think the locknuts where ok but i should of went reg. nuts and locktite .. the countersunk hole was a little deeper than i wanted but theres plenty of wood to deal with “nice thick stock” and the washers would give it the support it needed … i have a mill in my knife shop.. made the job easy

then installed the rail

I had a american defense quick release on the bipod so it went on nice also it can be used for a sling when the bipod isn’t being used …

NEXT i’m going to put a small rail in the rear to hold my one pice sling ….it will also hold my fastfire lll if i don’t want it mounted on my scope rail which i don’t see but it could .. then i’m going to machine a bracket to go on a quick release to hold my three extra mags. but for now i need to find a drill to get in that small of a spot “small 90 deg .angle drill” i’ll use wood screws for this spot…..

Lol…..good luck cricket!

After the income tax is deducted the only thing pouring will be your bitter tears 😉

$$$$$$ you can spend on a bettr scope instead :2cents:

It’s just more $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ spend it while you can. Or does Cricket have short arms and long pockets?? hehehe

should have bought an original one instead of a clone…..the original Atlas made in the USA works great.

It´s ridiculously priced over here. Not Worth the Money – there are better options for less Money, made in Europé. :suprisedn:
Or almost – Made in Estonia 🙂

The greenbase is very sloppy without a 12×3 o-ring between the attachment and the bipod (unscrew the wheel under bipod and separate the two parts, then put o-ring and screw back together)

The result is a much nicer bipod with a nicer tilt function as well

Thanks Cricket for hint!!

But I sold it my one year ago. Now I have just harris style…

The greenbase works more than great, with the oring installed. No way i will pay 250 dollars extra just to have the atlas logo on it

ohh yes 🙄

My greenbase atlas copy with an oring in the right place tilts/cants, but not if you tighten the wheel underneath too much

Yes Cricket has right! Same I had from Greenbase. If I tighten the wheel tilts doesn’t work property. It was annoying so I switched back to harris.

Here is cricket with greenbase “atlas”
