vulcan bipod installed
hey guys so i had a harris bipod sitting around for “Years” and was considering buying a atlas but knowing that the harris was a very good bipod just couldn’t see spending another 300.00 for a atlas “maybe in time” … i decided to put a rail under the vulcan that way if or when i wanted a flash light or laser or a deferent bipod or a bayonet LOL i could do so “so now long or short” i went with long why limit myself .. and the way i shoot off hand “standing” my left hand is by the trigger anyways “more of a target rifle team stance elbow tucked by the belt …as a point of contact etc…. so now the fun part… I took the stock off found my centerline taped it marked it ……

then i drilled a small pilot hole rechecked everything then drilled the hole the right size for the new bolts

now for the underside i bought a larger washer and locknuts the larger washers because my gunsmithing buddy said the washers would make sure its as strong as possible i think the locknuts where ok but i should of went reg. nuts and locktite .. the countersunk hole was a little deeper than i wanted but theres plenty of wood to deal with “nice thick stock” and the washers would give it the support it needed … i have a mill in my knife shop.. made the job easy

then installed the rail

I had a american defense quick release on the bipod so it went on nice also it can be used for a sling when the bipod isn’t being used …

NEXT i’m going to put a small rail in the rear to hold my one pice sling ….it will also hold my fastfire lll if i don’t want it mounted on my scope rail which i don’t see but it could .. then i’m going to machine a bracket to go on a quick release to hold my three extra mags. but for now i need to find a drill to get in that small of a spot “small 90 deg .angle drill” i’ll use wood screws for this spot…..
