well time for a glock…..
ok my most recent gun purchase was the .22 condor and my rule is i buy a air rifle i then buy a powder burning gun next… and next on my list is a gun from the glock family… i just wanted to hear u guys oppinions on the glocks… wat is u guys favorite one like caliber and there compact, sucompact, or regular… im looking for one that is good to shoot for a long day at the range… but i dont want the extreme speed and penetration of the 9mm so a slower moving round is my way to go… this will be my first pistol to add to my collection and i cant wait to get one,,,, opinions would be appriciated… thanks…

well kinda… ive read up on it and it says (ur rite no private ownership is allowed) but they say if u get paper work from a private gun club or a trusted goverment official and have a class 3 license it is legal to own a silencer… that is after all the fees and paper work … im kinda reconsidering the silencer thing it looks like to much work for wat its worth..
Private individuals cannot get them.
Letters from politicians or local gun clubs, that’s a new one.
Lol. Yep it would be way easier.. It is possible to get a license for a silencer in California just takes awile and a class 3 license but it is possible. Oh and u need papers from either some trusted politician or private gun club to say u won’t go out and start sniping people..
No silencers in California.
I believe you’ll need a Class 3 license, tax stamp or something like that… 😕 Not sure how one goes about that in California… 😯
May want to move the Nevada, could be easier… 😆
hmmm thatll save time… do there silencers fall under a CA silencer license i cant find anything on there website about license requirements..? thanks for the info..
Colster,
You gotta go aftermarket for a threaded barrel. As far as i know at least. There are a bunch of places to get a decent THREADED aftermarket barrels. Just google it. While i don’t have a threaded barrel, i replaced both of my Factory glock barrels when i got my gun for shooting CAST bullets (whole nother story by the way)
Here is one such place for them

l live wuith my 26 in my hip, easy and confortable for all day use, my choice on ammo… Federal Premium Hidra Shock… no more, no less..
seeyou glockers 😉
well i reload my rifle ammunition alot of times but i dont have a hand gun reloader yet.. once i get the glock ill buy the reloader… cause the reloader for my rifle ammunition does not work with pistol ammunition.. and does the glock have any room for me to add threads for a licensed silencer??
I love my Glock 22 full size 40. Cal… Best pistol I have ever shot and I have had the opportunity to range fire alot of handguns.
It was basically replaced by the slightly shorter 10mm, the .40 S&W.
Ammo is expensive if you don’t reload.
If you don’t reload, just get a 9×19.
ok i will…. and wat about the 10mm i havent heard much about it??? like is it harsh on recoil or no..???
Colster,
Its all in the loads. I hand load and have for roughly 20 years now. But as with hand loading, FACTORY ammo comes in many variation. You have factory 45 acp +P loads that shoot over the sound barrier (1150 FPS) and you have some that shoot at medium velocities like 875-950 fps (or whatever) and you have target loads that shoot around 700-830 fps.
Same with the 40. I keep a box of hand loaded 50 ct/165 gr golden sabers JHP (1140 FPS) for back up in the field, and i have some CORBON 165 gr JHP for home defense but, i mostly practice with hard cast LEAD 180 Truncated Cone bullets at about 900 + – FPS.
You can easily buy the practice stuff (it shoots well below SUPERSONIC) from either REM, or WIN or CCI that shoots subsonic and its cheaper than the hot self defense/hunting stuff in 40 or 45 or any pistol caliber for that matter
Keep us posted on what you decide
May have started as a joke, but I would seriously check out the fn fiveseven. I shot one a year ago and it will be my first handgun purchase when I get back from korea. I love the size (hate small pistols) and it was amazing to shoot. Virtually the recoil of a .22lr just with a lot of noise, I could put 3 shots in a target in an instant. I liked the sights as well; trigger was fantastic (however there are two triggers, maker sure you get the one with the 4.5lb pull and not the combat one with the 9lb pull) It was lightweight. 20 rounds to a magazine. Like I said, I’m going to get one.
It got a reputation as a cop killer, but don’t believe the media. Look up actual testing, the civilian ammo will not penetrate any body armor. Get the AP rounds and of course it will, but that is in the name. It is also better if you reload yourself, because the rounds can be loaded a lot hotter than the factory ammo.
The reason it got so infamous and such a bad rep was the Ft. Hood shootings. That was the first time the pistol was used and got any attention, and it did such a good job at what it does everyone freaked out about it. But like I said, don’t believe the hype. It is another pistol, and of course it can kill people. Never listen to the media for gun advice.
There are only two real problems people have with it. Some say the ammo isn’t powerful enough to stop a bad guy, but plenty say that about the 9mm as well, and it does a hell of a job. Plus the ammo is used in the p90 submachine gun, and it does the trick just fine. Second is the cost of the pistol, at a grand it is expensive. It does come with 3 magazines though, which is fun. 🙂

I think when buying any gun Its mission specific. How are you planning to use it? For me, it dictates the caliber most efficient for the purpose, then the most reliable and accurate platform for the round, then practicality of the platform.
I used to carry the 40 Baretta. Love the weapon! however, Its a fucking boat anchor and I hated the weight.
I used the Glock 9 , loved the handling!! not impressed with the caliber.
shit, gotta do that work thing again.
