What rimfire to get?
Im moving to a farm and i no longer need my shrouded condor. So i was thinking on selling it and buying a new rimfire 17 or .22lr or even .22 mag. I Want to be able to take out coyotes and fox And feral cats. when they come around the chickens and what not. So i was thinking .17 or .22mag. But those both cost more to shoot. Than a .22lr although they both have much more power and accuracy then a .22lr. And i already have a .22lr. Then i was thinking lever action or semi auto i know .17 aren’t made in semi but i think .22 mags are? And i like the cz452 American. I know llama has one and he likes his so im just looking at my choices. So what would you buy or what do you have?

Keep the condor for plinking & quite pest disposal . If you sell it you will regret it .
A rugar 10/22 22mag is a good ranch rifle & pickup gun . I have had one since they first came out . It has bounced around in various pickups, tractors , & 4 wheelers for years . A very rugged & reliable gun,adequate for feral hogs , fox & coyote . I”ve always had a leupold 2-7 rimfire scope on it . The triggers on 10/22s are usually pretty bad but can be improved with drop in parts from Cabelas .

If you are going that route just buy a blaser and get the different barrels. It’s a better system, get a scope for each barrel, and they mount directly to it. That way when you stick the barrel on there, it is sighted in.
I do know how much that will cost though, and it will be a lot. 😯
Federal law prohibit any kind of sound modification device on a firearm without a Class III license. Which are easier to obtain than you might think. You need to talk to a Class III firearms dealer to get the details, but ownership of a machine gun, or silenced firearm is not really that difficult, nor expensive. With the exception of purchasing the firearm of course.

Cz and don’t look at anything else. Get an ultra lux with the big long barrel, then load up with only subsonic ammo. It’ll still be extremely quiet. Mine shoots CCI standard stuff very well, and it barely makes more than a pop when shot.
The caps are EXTREMELY quiet, but mine shot them like a scattergun. Couldn’t hit anything.
If you want to keep the quiet, like I said, cz ultra lux in .22lr. If you really don’t care about noise (like WOK said, low noise is nice) cet a CZ american or varmint in .17hmr. It will be incredibly accurate and easy to take headshots on anything out to 100 yards.
Just put a good scope on it, it will deserve it. 😉
I though it’s illegal if you install silencer on rimefire, unless you have permit to own and use it.

I wish i had the money for both guns but. Using a hand pump is getting old fast. And only having 60 fpe and single shot. I just cant justify it. And .22lr aren’t much more than pellets.

I have a 17hmr and its incredibly accurate but you may want a 22 mag for hunting… there is a split of opinion on this… so you’ll have decide for yourself. With a 17 most shots on large pest need to be head shots.
Your 22lr is perfect for plinking, if you can get 22 CB Caps in LR casing then you have a very quiet gun.
