Q:

where to spend $1800???

i have a friend who really wants to buy my Freedom Arms .454 Casull revolver with a B&L Elite 2×7 scope( my tried and true hog killer). He will pay $1800 and I am considering selling it to him and using the money to get a really nice air gun. If you had that much money to buy what you wanted( without going much over that), what would you buy and why? My 2 criteria are power AND quietness, although I am willing to sacrifice a little more noise for power. give me some suggestions and reasons for your suggestions please. Also, don’t figure in the cost of a scope in the total purchase- i have several that will work. Thanks a lot.

Christina has, at least, $1,800 worth of tities 😯 😉 😎

I would buy this:

And spend the rest in a Tity bar….. 😯 😉

Just kidding…. I would spend ALL of it at a Tity Bar 😯 😆 😆

Good suggestions all of the above! People here know their stuff!
My 2 cents: 25 Edgun or TT Condor.

Wise Man

Hi SAVAGESAM, Yes I actually did a post about .y .25 Marauder. It’s long but worth the read. The numbers are a few pages in:
http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14141&highlight=marauder
Be aware, people have had not so good luck with the .177 and .22 Marauders. For some reason the .25’s have had a much better track record. The .25 barrels are made by Green Mountain Barrel Company.

Out of the box, mine was pushing 31 grain Kodiaks 750fps. When I was done tuning, it spit them out at 850fps. It shoots that straigt also. Right off hand, I forget what the 25 grain JSB Kings were doing…875-900?

picudo has a good idea. 1800 would get all members of tag a lap dance

The way I get it, you spend $1800 and then send it to an airgun smith to get it tuned properly. Mamcrackin sent his straight Alan Z…I can’t spell his name, sorry. Maybe Mam will chime in here?

That’s why I bought the .25 Marauder. It was cheap by comparison. I could tune it myself.

Steve tell me more about the M-rod. It seems like the best “Bang for the buck” gun out there. Would you agree? Have you posted numbers/groups/strings anywhere?

I would get a TT .25 then get a second condor or talon and do a AirArcher conversion on it.

Re: Cygs Rapid, are there others out there who have gotten a dud? I thought Rapids were supposed to be sorted out and known to be good BEFORE leaving the factory???

OK, I’ll bite, what’s so special about the S510?

The guy who does the pellet testing for this website is an idiot. He tests pellet accuracy at 1348fps for light weight 22cal pellets… Check out the Condor pellet testing video. He cranks the PW up to max and proceeded to shoot an 11grain pellet with a 2″+ group…

If I shoot an 11grain 177 cal pellet from my Talon with the PW to max it will shoot the 177 cal pellets well above 1050 fps with horrible accuracy.

It’s not the pellets fault.

Take the pellet that works for this situation (max PW) and shoot it at 1300 fps and the groups will look like shit compared to the groups where the velocity was correct…

Any info on that site should be regarded as HIGHLY suspect.

High prices too!

🙄

Great! They have a larger sky screen area. They are made in America. When I called, an engineer answered the phone, not some knucklehead like at shooting chrony. Which model did you buy?

So, Naser, you actually own a .25 Air Ranger? If so, tell us about.
Do you hunt with it? If so what do you hunt and at what ranges?

Which pellets does it like?

Which scope do you have on it?

I followed your link, that’s a beautiful rifle. I thought it was strange that someone would strap a bungee cord over the free floated barrell. That doesn’t seem like a good spot to hold down that rifle. Aw, what do I know?

quote SteveinLA:

Wow! That .25 Air Ranger is sexy! 80 ft lbs! I want one 😀

i know man, its sweeeeet, I went with your advice steve & ordered a Pro Chrono. 🙂

Get the new AA510…
