Q:

which way would be better?

i am going to buy either a talon or the SS not sure which would a talon with a shroud be just as quiet or quieter than a talon ss? if so i think i would just buy the talon and put a shroud on because the regular talon is cheaper..

also is there any other places that sell shrouds other than talon tunes?

yeah thats what i was thinking

im not complaining you help me out a lot 😀

do you what the max range on a talon stock? i think it was you that i saw shot a bottle at 120 yds? dont remember though

Your gonna want air for sure if you want to get GH’s and crows at 50 yards. I am just bored because of summer time.

oh ok thats what i thought

im asking cause i wasnt sure if i wanted to pay that much for a pump…. i think thats what i am going to do

target shooting 50 plus yards

and for hunting squirrel, rabbit, raccoon, ground hog, crows… at about the same yards

lol i should just pm you for all of my questions. your always the first to answer and you give me the answer im looking for 😀 thank you for your help

You will get about 600 fps with c02 as compared to 800-900 with air. The co2 version is the same as the pcp version but instead of coming with an hpa tank, it comes with an adapter and a co2 tank.

What are you going to be shooting with your talon, and at what ranges?

is the Co2 version of the talon just a normal talon that has the adapter to go on the tank?

are the Co2 ones just as good as the pcp?

any difference in velocity, range, or grouping?

i agree you would have to love to make the parts to keep doing it and sell at the price they sell them at plus i think all the comments on how much they like the parts help too 🙂 😉

That is why selling custom stuff is hard, you need to sell it for enough that you make a profit, but also so lots of people will buy them.

That, and many people dont understand or appreciate the time and effort that goes in to a “custom” part. Often even a small item can take several if not many hours to make. Take Tony’s Shrouds or Seans valves for example: Even at the premium price they are a bargain as I’m quite sure their time invested in each part; broken down into an hourly wage after materials, tool wear and tear, etc would be low enough to make many here cringe and wonder why they continue their work. Expensive, yes, but still a bargain for what both charge; from the point of view of anyone that appreciates truly custom work. 😉

You do realize I ment $545 for the gun and baffles right? If the ss sells for around $480, that means his baffles cost about $65 installed.

But Mac1 airguns said they can install 5 baffles to make it as quiet as a low power springer.

Did he say how much he charges for that five baffle upgrade?

Yeah he said $545 for a SS with baffles.

if i bought a shroud from tony at talon tunes it would probably be way better than a homemade shroud? do you know how much a shroud from him would be??

does anyone know where i can buy a talon for cheaper than 470? i looked on the for sale thread but i couldn’t find anything

with a standard flow valve, you honestly don’t even need baffles inside the shroud.

Did you even shoot the gun before you put in the other barrel? Baffles make an insanely huge reduction in noise levels on the SS without having to extend the length of the gun.

Once you put in the longer barrel I dont even think its really a SS anymore. At least in concept. Its more like a Talon with a longer foregrip.

Yes i did shoot the gun without baffles. And in a stock ss it made a big difference. But when i got a 24″ barrel i made a shroud and put it on. Without baffles in the shroud, it is quitter than my stock SS was with baffles in the frame. Probably because of the large expansion chamber and vents.

this a little off topic but i was wondering if anyone knows where i could find a pump new/used for cheaper than 190$ thats the cheapest i have found… 😕
