Sorry, RCMann. It was just one of those hunches– mistaken, a guess, like I said– that we all engage in during, and after, reading hundreds/thousands of posts.
But when somebody posts a classified and then takes it down quickly, it makes one wonder. The Yellow has had many posts in years past where someone
posts a classified, gets questioned or people want more info, and suddenly its “sold” to someone unknown (conveniently) or “no longer for sale”.
Sometimes they have a partner who will post an enquiry to increase interest or the appearance of legitimacy. . . But, sorry, Rod. The running criteria I went by isn’t always
a good indicator of what is a “scam”.
As for what the numbers mean– maybe you really can’t infer much from them. What follows, then, is that invoking and pointing to classified posts
of airguns as proof of the falling-out-of-favor of certain brands of guns wouldn’t be advisable or meaningful. But we see many such posts claiming disfavor of guns based
on classifieds, here and on the yellow. The purpose seems to be the intended diminishing of the brand in question; and that agenda– presumedly not present,
not openly stated, but there– gets so old.

Whilst most of you lack the reading ability to comprehend what I’m about to relate, I will place, in parenthesis, simpler wording, that you too might have some vague concept of what I’m about to say.
Sometime, later this Summer, I need a knee replacement. Arthritis has ruined the joint, and it’s bone on bone. My doc prescribed Oxycodone for the pain, however, in technical scientific terminology, if I take this medication, I can’t shit.
Given any reasonable choice, over time, all of us would rather suffer serious pain than not be able to shit. Trust me on this, I know whereof I speak.
This Fall my shoulder failed, and I had to have surgery to smooth out the joint due to arthritic damage. I was given narcotic pain relievers for the post surgical pain. Again, I found myself unable to shit. This went on for three days, and I went to the emergency room by ambulance, after I passed out due to dehydration, and six hours of dry heaves. I was home alone and managed to call 911. At the hosplital I was given a CAT scan, and was diagnosed as having tremendous amounts of impacted fecal matter (“full of shit”), also diverticulitis, with infection, was noted. It took two days of morphine and IV antibiotics to resolve that problem.
Now my hands have started to show signs of arthritic degeneration. I can use them, but not for too long, as it gets very painful…and I am too terrified to keep trying, because, for reasons I don’t yet understand, I won’t be able to shit.
The Edgun Long that Old Goat worked on for days was a treasure. Never have I owned a more accurate gun with a crisper, cleaner trigger. I loved and treasured that gun! But it was too long, too heavy, and I couldn’t enjoy shooting it any longer.
So, I offered the gun at a very reasonable price, hoping to get it into the hands of someone who normally couldn’t afford to own one, and I believe I accomplished that task. I didn’t post it here because this is a Talon forum.
I am relegated to finding a very light, short bullpup that I can handle with one hand, and shoot easily without undue lifting strain. The only gun that comes to mind is a Lelya, and I inquired to Tony, but got a short “..haven’t seen any for awhile.” I “PM” Ed, on the off chance he might look at his messages, which is doubtful given how busy he is, and asked him if he would include a .22 Lelya in the next shipment.
I have a better chance of being elected Pope than having the good fortune of Ed seeing my message and sending a Lelya to Tony.
So, right now I am pcp-less. Unable to defend myself against starlings, armadillos, racoons, or savage bull possum.
In ultra-light pcp guns, ones that perform decently, there is simply no choice. I don’t like pistols. I’ve got two bad eyes from detached retinas, so I need a scope and both hands to hold whatever I’m shooting.
I’m 71, and have been very lucky health-wise in the arthritis/health department, but now time demands I pay the price for being “old”.
So…we will see what I can come up with to shoot. There are some “Short” bullpups out there that might work. However, the “micro” bullpup of them all is the Lelya, and I’m playing all my cards to see if I can snag one before I go elsewhere for a decent ‘pup.
In the beginning, I said i would make use of simple words for the more stupid forum members, so they too could understand what I’m facing. I lied. I’m not about to waste my valuable time trying to educate morons!
If any of you know Ed…put in a word for me will you? Tony…it wouldn’t kill you to call Ed and ask him to help out an R 2.0 to R 3.0 veteran. If he could send one that’s shiny aluminum that would be nice. I’ve always wanted an brushed/polished aluminum, shiny Edgun! Fat chance. Even the Pope can’t get his hands on one!
Heck, I can even pay for it now since I sold the “Long”! (Limited time offer, operators are standing by)

Did a quick search of Yellow Edgun/Cricket classifieds from today to Sept 2013. Sorry about
some running notes to myself, observations (guesses, you know).
Discounting repeat postings of the same guns; and adding the multiple guns sold per posting (Crickets/Edguns). This is what I found for
Crickets and Edguns selling on the Yellow classifieds that Urgirlinmyjetta refers to. No stock, regulator, sales counted.
Extra Notes/Observations to myself:
Ban Tak– selling gauges, regulator (takes guns apart, if canāt sell them? or buys extra parts, then sells)
Some sellers post gun repeated times, say “Reduced price”, but there is none; interesting. Those who haven’t
seen the post in the weeks before because they disappear from the last few classified pages would believe it.
Peter of WA will post under different name (Mark Miller, posts same guns?)
Some posts look suspicious: Yellow members donāt respond to them, usually. Scam posts (mark as “scam”, possibly)
Posts since Sept 2013: Edgunā22 guns; Cricketsā35 guns (counting in multiple guns offered in some posts).
