Q:

Worth the money?

Hi there,

So in the past I was looking a lot around to decide which rifke to go for.

Due to some private issues, couldn’t buy anything.

Now everything is solved and I came up to really invest in some good quality.

But I’m not 100% sure I have to say. Currently I have an Air Ranger and must say that it is really great rifle. But the design is not mine. I like more the classical style, like the Huntsman Classic or the total different more modern tactical style.

So to sum it up – like the Daystates and Theobens because of their nice quality and accuracy as well.

But I got a real taste to the EdGun Matador. Read some things about it. Nevertheless, please give me some opinions and recommendations, if the Matador is really worth it’s high amount of $$$ compared to the mentioned brands.

Thanks a lot!

Aoa has the .25 Bobcat at $1849
I checked a few sights over seas and they are selling around $1500. http://luftvapen.e-butiken.se/luftgevar/fx-airguns/fx-bobcat
Not sure if that already has their taxes added, but it doesnt seem like a huge savings after shipping costs.

Great message to send to the owners of these companies and AoA don’t buy their product! See how fast it is before you get these rifles far cheaper! The customers in the end sets the price if there is a free market.

Heheee,

it seems to be, that I will go for the EdGun standard in .22

I think, that a lot of comments are true and also some kind of good feeling. For example about the styles… I really like the style of a nice looking “sniper rifle” or even “hunting rifle” like the Huntsman Classic from Daystate!!!

Nevertheless, the tactical look of the bullup by EdGun looke veeery nice, too!

Beside the design, there is the question about “hands on”. How about tuning and maintenance factors etc.???

From what I’ve read, te EdGuns seem to be “service and tuning friendly”.

AND what some guys mentioned, Daystates etc. are out there very much and easy to get – the EdGun not. It’s something more special IMO.

Ah and I found some other nice rifles, but they are somewhat different.

But that only for information 🙂

I tend absolutely to the EdGun now I have to say again.

AOA has been pulling this shit with FX and Daystate air guns for years. And both companies are well aware of it. And they could not care less. Sad really. They are the sole importer of both brands. Yes, there are dealers that sell Daystates, but they have to send them to AOA for warranty work, and get their guns from AOA. to make matters worse, until recently, AOA had some of the worst Customer Service in the industry. 👿 So Customers were screwed from both ends.

AT one time, AOA carried Rapids (before rapid went under in the UK), and dropped rapid products when rapid wouldn’t give them an exclusive. Or at least that is the story out there. Now they are made here in the good old USA, and for a better price thatn Daystate or FX. And built like a tank. And AOA can’t get their hooks into them. 😆

MG, that did occur to me while I was posting… Crazy to think what the wholesale prices might be. 😯

quote synopsys:

So $1500 INCLUDING a 25% tax?!?!

That means without tax they are $1125?

That’s almost 200% of retail over there, not including the tax?

Ding, ding, ding… We have the undisputed champ of overpriced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You’re forgetting one important factor. Assuming your $1125 is correct, that is full retail in Sweden without their tax. AOA is a distributor and no doubt buying at distributor pricing which is far less. Shipping to the USA Is well under $100 per gun and much less when you ship more than one gun in a box. I would venture to say that AOA is bringing in pallet loads per order and the shipping is even less doing it that way. I know as we import things all the time from overseas. Their profit margins are obscene. How do you spell monopoly! 😯

That bum may be in bed over there. :18:

sirville where do they advertise for second hand??

How would we order them directly? Link?

quote Sir Ville:

Those ugly pups go for under 1500 USD here. There are already some for sale second hand too.
No reason why i couldn’t buy a couple and send over there but it’s much cheaper to buy them as an American citizen and get them shipped stateside. That way you get them even cheaper since the Swedish sales tax at 25% is dropped. That always when the sale is outside European Union ✌

I see no reason why Sir Ville’s shouldn’t work. We pay for and wait countless months for Edguns. I’d pay a little extra to circumvent an ass raping. I’ll let u know when I’m ready to order SV.

Thanks,

Gabe

I wonder what shipping and import duties might run on a BC? Even a few hundred bucks would be nothing. For under $1500 for a 30 cal Bobcat delivered/insured might be tempting.

quote Greasemagnet:

Robert the owner of AOA is the one that is raping us with the prices of FX. A cyclone sold for $800. until AOA became sole distributor then the price went to $1300. overnight. Hopefully Fredrick at FX will find a second distributor and then the prices will return to where they should be.
FX has a lot of good ideas but I wont buy one until the raping from AOA stops.

I have a theory that the ST barrels are relatively cheap to make (compared to a conventional barrel) but they are close to 2x the price. In all likely hood AoA is sending some of the profit back to the manufacturer as a sole distributor agreement. As long as people keep paying to be raped, things won’t change.

quote Fast and Danger:

Price of 30 call Bobcat is not $2305.
It is $2095 and it includes regulator by default and it is not an option.

Whoops, missed that, you are correct.
