Your next rifle?
Just wondering if anyone on here was saving up for anything other than another Airforce rifle?
I’ve got my eye on one of these puppies: http://www.flickr.com/photos/socalairgunner/114333163/

It’s a Skan R32L2, 32 shot mag with grip cocking. mmmmm.

AA 410′ are ultra smooth, and fine shooters. Period.
I love the pistol grip on the HW100, but the forearm looks like a 2×4! Terrible. + Low on power and shot count. Or at lest that is what I keep hearing. On the other hand, I would love to own one, as I hear it is a real shooter. Now if they could put the for-end of the non pistol grip model on it with it’s checkering, it would temp me a lot more.

See here to adjust the power issue: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEb7Oeif-C4
I’m with you on the for-end. Why on earth did they go with it?
They do shoot well though! 🙂

That is the exact reason I bought the AA410 over the HW100. Your right Knifemaker the forearm does look like a 2×4 ! They need to add some design to it.
I’ve never heard of any one trading in their AA 410 for a HW100!

Simple answer = it’s easier to sell shitloads of traditionally stocked rifles.
Sort of like the Harley Davidson effect, the design essence of what makes their bikes so popular hasn’t changed very much in the last 100 years. When Harley stepped outside their comfort zone and created the V Rod, you pretty much heard a collective “eeeewwwwww” from the Dyna and soft tail owners…
Sound familiar? It should – the same folks who fault our AF rifles as being “too futurisitc”, “too tactical”, “too military” are the same people who are immediately attracted to the white bread styling of the Marauder.
This goes back to a previous thread in which some one asked to compare FX vs. Air Arms rifles. After shooting both, I chose the synthetic stocked FX because I felt it looked more modern.

GUILTY 😳
I will always love the classic wood stock. I really love the looks of the S410 stock but too much $$$’s for my liking. The BAM B50/51 looks nice and read afew reviews on it but it’s a Chinese air rifle … I can say this cause I’m Chinese. Not too keen on the looks of the Discovery. BUT… here comes the Marauder and looks similar to the S410 and has a factory built barrel shroud AND at a good selling price AND I can purchase one locally…. 😀
Can’t go wrong with the classic look.
Now if there was a place in Canada that sold FX air rifles…. that would be 8)

To clarify, my beef isn’t with the finish, it’s with the overall design of the stock.
I have a 22cal Marauder and the Stock, finish and performance so far is outstanding. I sit it right next to my AAS410 Thumbhole. Right now, when I go after a Starling it’s the Marauder that I grab.
To each his own, but I fully disagree with the comment on the finish

I’ve allready put most of them mods on mine and still not happy so i’ve got a regulated tank on the way. What length barel did you go for? I’ll probably end up getting one but don’t want anything too big but still want good down range accuracy? I bought this stealth as a small, light, compact gun but now It looks like It’s going to be alonger range shooter and then I’ll get another when funds allow for my origional idea 😆
Gunpower were on about a multishot coming out this year but I’m not convinced.
Flame that… 😉
I’m all for “Buy American”, and I encourage it. Hell, I live in Detroit, after all…. 😉
I was just making a comment regarding Crosman’s choice of design. When they sat down to design this rifle, they had a blank sheet of paper and endless possibilities. They could have done anything, within the limits of their intended price-point. So it just makes me wonder why they settled for such an anachronistic style for the furniture.
Heck, they could’ve (should’ve?) just taken the Super Streak’s stock and repurposed it to fit the Marauder. That’d be one killer looking gun, yes?
Just my opinion. It sounds like it’s turning out to be a great shooter, but for me it leaves a bit to be desired in the looks department.
Never mind how it shoots, the furniture looks like something out of Russia circa 1943.
And by the way… what the hell is up with the recoil pad on the butt? Do we bruise that easily? 😆
Flame away if you must…. 😉
No Flaming but with that attitude it’s no wonder why the American economy sucks. Here I thought I’d help stimulate the US economy but maybe I should go Air Arms or even worse BAM

LOL ! True !

I don’t know about that, I’ve seen some close ups and they are using some nice wood but saving a bit of money on the finnish, within not much time at all and just a bit of elbow grease I think those stocks could be exceptionally nice
If I only had $3K 😯

The wow-ness factor alone is awesome!
