Benjamin Rogue
.357 at 1000 ft/sec generating 250 ft/lbs at a cost of $1,300 at PyramydAir. I’ve read some exciting things about it but wonder if the electronics will hold up. I’ve got $800 saved for a Condor but I’m rethinking that purchase at the moment…Anyone heard anything good or bad about the Rogue or should I wait until it’s been out for a while?

I was thinking the same thing RC, Not much of a comparison of the ranger (appears to be solid powerful and acurate) and the Rogue which is semi powerful (compared to ranger weak) plastic looking and probably not much more accurate if at all
I would love to put something together that i can cast for, but hell, i don’t know!!!
I already have a couple of 30 Cal moulds, but i have several 35 cal moulds.??
I have a 338 that makes a pretty 268 grain flat nose too.
RC have you heard of the bAIRett 50 cal BMAG?
BMAG stands for the big-mother-fucking-air-gun…
To further your analogy it’s the Pamela Anderson of airguns… 😆
Stubby 308? 😕 A 12″ 308 barrel… 😕 😕
Randy at RLairguns is marketing a 308 Condor that is just under 200 FPE I believe.
He does not have it on his web site yet, but from what I read it will be as available as the stubby 25 he sells and the owners seem to love.
I have a 22 a 25 and a 45, there is a 308 hole in my arsenal. Having said that I would probably go to a 375 Corsair if I was to get another big bore.
I have to tell you Big Bores are indeed fun, but the air consumption is a task to keep up with. When I shoot my 45 Ranger I need to keep that Shoebox running 12 hours a day in addition to using the Booster pump.

But then when I shoot it, I shoot it a lot, 420 grains doing 600 FPE into inch groups at 100 yards is very habit forming.

To go from that Ranger 45 to a Crosman Rogue, would like be going from good sex with a beautiful woman to jerking off, the procession is simply the wrong direction.

Weirder things have happened… 😉 All they need to do is to get Sarah Palin to pose with it and it will go viral… 🙄
i thought of that too but after i’ve writed the post 🙂 i guess i was carryed by the wave. i wanted to say that af rifles are very versatile and i dont think i’ll see any time soon a forum called Benjamin Rogue Airgun 😉
I would argue that twisting the wheel up one number doesn’t do ANYTHING at all… 244 is fluff and basically makes you sound like a magazine reviewer doing a bit of mental masturbation… 😆
Call it 16 levels realistically. 😉
But I do get what your saying.
OTOH the AF rifle doesn’t have a pressure gauge or a regulator so it’s really no comparison to what this rifle is supposed to be. I think you could compare this to the other electronic rifle the Daystate MCT?
Nobody has made a production 308 from an AF rifle, there have been one offs and from what I recall the heavy spring and everything is hard on the frame and internals, plus it’s like three shots max or something like that…
smth else i forgot to tell, and everyone here knows : condor has 14 steps on power scale times 16 grades on power wheel makes…244 levels of power to choose from. it’s true that we are talking of different power and calibre but than again i’ve read on this forum about someone having a condor in .308… i’m curious how that performs.
Not to mention inadvertently hitting one of the buttons while your in the woods and changing the set up without knowing… 😕
Should be interesting to see how it weathers the abuse of firing the heavy projectiles, let alone what happens to the electronics after a while…
Could be good, could be bad. Either way it will make for some good forum discussions! 😉
first of all that benjamin rogue is big and heavy… i dont know how you will perform with it throu the bushes and carry it arround too much.
second: it has new tech on it and usually when new stuff hits tha market it’s a good thing to let it an year or two for the manufacturers to repairs the flaws.
third: has a tone of plastic on it… i can deduce that it’s good quality plastic at those money but than i dont think it will resist more than 2 years of heavy usage.
and fourth: it has electronic devices to give you a lot of options??? a lot of options of what? of pushing 3 buttons? for god sake airgunning is a hobby first of all. that includes upgrades, measuring, drowing conclusions for yourself, by yourself.you need to buy a cronograph, read hundreds of pages of tag forum think about how to squeez more power and accuracy what shroud / barrel/ valve/ spring / hammer to buy to get the gun where you want it to be.from this point of view candor / talon is a pro hobbyst gun.
and one last question… what you do if your electronincs jams? if your in the nature and it will rain if you’re holding a condor you’ll be concerned just about yourself, and when you get home you’ll clean the gun from water and that’s it. but with this gun on your hands you’ll be concerned about the electronic parts… what if it gets wet? and at those bucks you should be…
😯
Good god that thing looks nearly 4′ long with the stock collapsed…
What do you want to bet that AR air upper costs more than a more accurate pellet rifle (with a much better trigger to boot).
I like how he says “pellet on pellet” accuracy but doesn’t mention a distance… A plastic fantastic wallymart bb gun will do pellet on pellet accuracy at an unspecified distance…
I guess this whole new product push is for people who don’t know their ass from 223 brass with regards to air guns… I’d have a hard time buying any of this overpriced crap they are selling these days.
I saw some youtube video of it also. It looks like a BAR. It’s receiver is
huge. One guy called it light at just 9 1/2 pounds. 😯 9 1/2
pounds?!? That’s what a WWII beach head betty M-1 Garand
weighs! …without the scope. That seem pretty large to me. But, to each
his own. Hopefully someone here will get one and tell us all about
it. 😉
This isn’t a very good video as it is being made while others are
shooting .223 at the next table:
What I did see that I thought had merit was an upper for an AR15. It took
the stock AR/M-16 lower and turned it into a PCP pellet gun for practice. I
thought that was cool.
Here’s a video of this upper:
Ive seen clips of them demonstrating that gun and it looks pretty big to me, for sure wont be as easy to carry as my Corair.
They must be having Issues with it or it would have done been on the market. 😀
Fair enough Shaggy. My .25 Marauder is a great air rifle as is my early 90’s Benjamin 392, (just after Crosman bought Benjamin, but before the design change.) Their customer service is very friendly. That’s nice. There have just been too many problems out-of-the-box to ignore. Is it me, or is the Rogue a really large rifle?

for such an Ugly rifle.Too bad they hadn’t of used just a bit better colors as that would have made all the difference.
