exploding pellets
have any of you guys tried making them or maybe tried some of the store bought kind ?
theres a guy on youtube filling hollowpoint pellets with toygun snap caps powder and getting them to explode in clay and shit

LOL, well guys I didn’t split the CPS breech on my Condor way back when, but I did blow the bolt handle right off and it went half way across my shop when it did.
The breech and bolt handle setup I use now is aluminum with the side-out option. I have a much more robust bolt handle out the right side of the rifle and its got to locking points to the frame now as well…
My Condor is setup for qany and all things, as I have blown it apart or things just didn’t work as they should to begin with, I made much improved components… She is one bad big bird now…
I also have some brandy new stuff I am going to get turned down for me to hand fit and dial them all in and add some bling to the fugly bird of mine and soon…
So all in all, if the stuff really lights up the back side, it might be really something… I have had mine flash off from a penetrant base solvent a couple times long ago and it was very interesting…
A little squirt in the right place and you can do evil things and tear all sorts of things out if your not amp’d up strong LOL… I am sure I am not the only one that has messed with this at one time or other…
Just need a way to seal something like a petro product in the cupped area of the pellet at the back, that would be impacted hard and fast enough to set off the small sample and send the pellet on its way with much more energy…
You will get a way dirty barrel from anything like this, but then I am a guy that likes to clean my barrel and frame quite often LOL… Nothing hard or metal goes in the barrel t clean, such as a hard brass brush or anything like it. Just good chemicals and patches pulled through…
After a tin of pellets for example the barrel is way nasty if you ask me, the alloy the pellets are made from along with all the atmosphere its in touch with, mine gets cleaned…

I’m not sure the breech can handle the additional pressure from an explosive propellant. I had one split and dent the closet door with the bolt knob, and that was using pure Nitrogen.
Will be interesting to see if you create the .25 caliber RPG. 😎

I have always heard the small dot they close the end of the shell in with to keep the blank powder from coming out was called nitro card…
I have heard that since I was a small boy that was always in trouble… Its no wonder why I got the nick name Rowdy and I use it so much and wear it well LOL…
I don’t think it has anything to do with actual nitro or anything. Many years ago my uncle bought a machine gun belt full of loaded .30-06 shells… Except they were loaded as blanks, but they were hot enough to blow the bolts back to cycle the machine guns…
They put one really bad boy crimp in the end of the bottle necked down end of the shell around this nitro paper plug. That crimp we would run through sizing dies once we emptied the shells of the nitro plug and flash powder. Then trim the cases to proper length and they were ready to load up for hunting rounds or targets. Made for some really cheap brass buying the entire belt of them.
Needless to say the nitro card was just a plug basically. I do remember they were red in color also… They would just fill the empty ’06 cases with the flash powder, set the small dot of nitro paper on top of the powder in the case and crimp the hound out of it… These things were like loaded with 4-FFFF-G powder guys, that stuff was nasty and mean stuff by itself as I remember LOL…

Now it was mentioned about needing a nuclear diaper, I am not sure about that just yet as most here do like the red mist blowing off the POI; but we may need the neclear tampons!!! LOL LOL LOL
Besides I have been reading that Japan has cases of these that they would like to trade for nuke-free tampons, would make some of you guys in need and heck of a deal???
On the note of loading Jerrys slugs with this stuff, I fear its going to lighten up the front side of the pellet and would set the slug tumbling or at the very least swap ends…
What about putting this stuff in a cavity at the back of the pellet and/or slugs then seal it in like they do on the front side of the centerfire shells loaded for blanks… Then maybe once the air charge is fired the seal would set-off the explosion to add to the propellent air charge and really have the projectile of choice at warp speed toward the intended POI???
I think this would work, probably will need to clean your rifle more, but then some of you guys here don’t think you need to do that anyway…
I do think this would be best done on rifles that have already had the shroud staked really well in at least three equally spaced areas around the end of the frame, as well as the tank thread adapter LOL… While I have launched a shroud off the condor before and no harm was actually done, the holly chit batman was right there on the end of my tongue LOL…
For as the tank getting shot out the back of the frame, I have only had mine just dump out and fall once I lowered the Condor, being blown off the back of the frame might prove to be very harmful to one of us, not like all the fun being poked at each other here,while all the time hoping the comments being made actually hurt someones feeling here LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL

On a serious note though, don’t go clipping your shroud with a primer stuck on a pellet.
That just might scare the shit outta ya.
somebody get some of jerrys beautiful slugs and drill a nice hole up in the top and put a couple 6 shot cap clips into it and take a vid or detailed pictures, 😈
not that i would know from experiance or anything 😈 but a .22 blank fits nicely into a .457 hollow point from Mr.Hollowpoint if stuffed in backwards with a little super glue….. but this is just heresay and you cant prove that i’ve tried it…..

Another source of ‘pop’? Lead azide Pb(N3)2 is also unstable to shock – it is used in the percussion caps of cartridges/ bullets/ shells.
Azides are extremely unstable and I would not recommend anyone messing around with them. They use sodium azide pucks in automobile airbags because of its explosive power. You can easily lose a hand messing about with them.
